Bromley Contingent Billy Idol |
|||||||||||||||
Billy Idol, Bromley contingent member and singer with first Chelsea then Genereation X, he struck out in the UK but moved to the US in 1982 and struck paydirt. Currently punk's biggest success, in his terms if not punks, he recently told punk scribe Kris Needs in Zig Zag ( both lately back from the wilderness), "The people around me now are the same type as then. They like to have fun, play rock'n'roll. I I dont have to worry abou things being too arty. I never want to be the Velvet Underground. I always needed to be Billy Idol and I suppose that's my biggest triumph !" The Face - February 1986 |
