Frans Piek
If the daydreams of Frans Piek would turn into a script of a Hollywood movie
(it would be a blockbuster for sure)  it would read like this:
In his fashion laboratory a mad but brilliant stylist brings life to a couple of genetically cloned models. Half purple Gucci lizard, half human they break out to conquer the world. And so, naturally they trash a Chinese drive thru, are seduced by male lap dancers, get kidnapped by doomsday cultists, perform in a Madonna video, get arrested, break into a lounge club, set the place on fire and save the universe from obliteration. And in the end they reunite with their maker. Oh, and its funny too. Confused? You should be. Because that's exactly what our subject's daydreams are all about. Confusion, delicious schizophrenia.

Piek's passion for fashion started to become serious when he began to work as an interior stylist and etaleur for some exclusive, high profile shops in the North of Holland. In the weekends Piek wanted to be less serious, so he let of steam in the RoXY, Amsterdam's most hippest and notorious club in those days. As an observer he liked what he saw. Especially the performances and acts in the club drew his attention. Soon Piek became a participant, dancing his brains out in various clubs and at various parties. But for some people, especially if you listen to the name of Piek, even that is not enough. From participant he went on to become a key player in the Dutch nightlife scene when, together with fellow stylist Richard Schreefel, he came up with a unique formula consisting of satirizations of the so so serious fashion shows. People loved it.
Out of this success came FashionPack (a name invented by RoXY's Dj numero uno Joost van Bellen). And with the help of nightlife agency Pantera Productions Piek's pack travelled the world to work in the hot spots: from Miami (Liquid) to Athens (Amphi Theatro), from Istanbul (2001) to Munich (Mach 1), from Cologne (Theater am Rudolfplatz) to Riccione (Echo) and of course back to good old Amsterdam (Piek's home base RoXY). When Pantera Productions fell apart he started his own agency. What set him apart from all the other agencies for club performances and go go acts was his delicious pert and his perfect feel for everything that (becomes) fashionable. Instead of going with the flow of the dance floor he did something totally opposite: his loyal and small team of performers (he often participates himself) didn't dance or move. Instead they became tableau vivants, with a styling so different and with humour (the performers can be dressed like mad fashion stars, but also like girls doing the dishes) that shaking their behinds wasn't necessary anymore. It was simply beyond anything imaginable.

Frans Piek - Made In Holland, which has residency performances at
Speedfreax, More and Supper Club, now works with almost 20 female and 5 male performers. As underground nightlife plays an integral part of our society (the big advertisers see participants of this subculture as their key target group) Made In Holland does more than performances in clubs and at parties.
Some of his clients are: Sharp, Rituals, National Geographic, Monsterboard, Coiffure Awards 2001 and Pathé Cinema. Clients that are very happy that their parties and/or presentations had that all-important icing on the cake.
Confused? To make things even more complicated you can call the work of Frans Piek paradoxical beauty treatments for the eyes. And if you don't want to think about all this, which we can imagine, you just switch of the mind. And enjoy his wonderful, humoristic work of fashion-art that turn every party or event into a happening with a capital .
