Sant Muktabai is the younger sister of Dnyandev Maharaj. She was the Guru of Changdev Maharaj. Changdev Maharaj found refuge at her feet after having met her alongwith her brothers and after seeing her level of spiritual depth. There is an instance in her life. She went to the house of Gora Kumbhar ( a potter) alongwith her brothers Nivruttinath, Dnyandev, Sopandev and their colleague Namdev Maharaj. She enquired Kumbhar Uncle about the instrument for testing strength of earthern pots. She further asked him whether strength of human-beings could also be tested as they are also a sort of pots. Kumbhar Uncle said ' Why Not ' and started hitting heads of these four one by one with the instrument. All except Namdeo Maharaj maintained their calm. Namdeo Maharaj was angry as he considered this act of Kaka as contempt of saints. Kaka came to the conclusion that all pots are strong except that of Namdev's. Then he asked Namdev why he became angry if he considered himself a devotee of God.

An ant has flown to the sky and usurped the Sun. A great wonder has taken place. A woman who is infertile has given birth to a child. A scorpion has gone to the nether world. Shesh is worshiping its legs. A fly has turned into an eagle. Muktai smiles at this. Muktai exhorts to rise above the materialistic level and recognise the all-pervading Brahma represented by all living beings.
