Welcome to my Mothers and Daughters page. My mother had 6 daughters and one step daughter. After my mother passed away, I stumbled onto the term "Motherless Daughters". I had never thought about how you would refer to daughters after their mother died until it happened to me.

My mother, Margaret, was born in May of 1917.  She passed away on Mother's Day in 1998, so on Mother's Day 1999, I released balloons in her Memory. 

Since then, I have heard of a lot of people who have released balloons, some even did it at the cemetery after a Funeral.  Others on their Mother's Birthday. I think it is a very Healing experience.
