Granberry, born January 10, 1838-died July 18, 1924, is buried in the Old Bethesda Baptist Church Cemetery, about two miles from Ellerslie, Georgia.  The church was destroyed by a tornado in 1875, and rebuilt in Ellerslie.  The cemetery has been abandoned and allowed to "return to nature".

Of Confederate Soldiers, 1907, Macon County; Alabama: John William Sego of Tuskegee, born July 2, 1845 in Houston County, Georgia; entered as a Private January 1864 at Tunnel Hill, Georgia.  Surrendered and paroled at Montgomery, Alabama.  Even though the National Archives combined the records of these men, it is quite convincing that there are two individuals, probably brothers.

Watkins, Henry G.  MR., April 10, 1862: Enlisted same date, Loachapoka, by J.C.B. Mitchell.  POW--Captured at Franklin, Tennessee, November 30, 1864.  Sent to Camp Douglas.  Was a teamster.

Whitlow, J.W.   MR., April 10, 1862: Enlisted same date, Loachapoka, by J.C.B. Mitchell.  James W. Whitlow on register of claims of deceased by mother, Elizabeth Whitlow, dated May 18, 1864.  A Private, J. Whitlow, belonging to Company F, 45th Alabama, transferred to Company B, 45th.

Mitchell.  Resigned April 23, 1863 because of ill health--chronic diarrhea and general debility.  Voucher for supplies, Knoxville, Tennessee, November 1, 1862; Shelbyville, February 7, 1863, and Tullahoma, Tennessee, March 23, 1863.

Wilson, Thomas J.  MR., April 10, 1862: Enlisted same date, Loachapoka, by J.C.B. Mitchell.  Clothing issued April 13, 1864; promoted to Corporal.  Discharge and oath dated Montgomery, Alabama, May 9, 1864 (1865).  Description: 5'9"; dark complexion; dark hair; grey eyes.

Zachery, J.M.   MR., April 10, 1862.  John M. Zachry on register of deceased officers and soldiers; claim filed by Edwin B. Zackry, his father.  Killed at Chickamauga, September 20, 1863.  Description: Age 19; 5'7"; farmer; dark hair; grey eyes; born in Alabama; stating that he was enlisted by Captain Wilson, April 3, 1862.  POW--exchanged October 25, 1862, at Vicksburg, Mississippi.
