Baby Seashell
Baby Seashell is my third custom, and boy was she a pain to make! I hope to make babies for all the ponies in the first two sets, and she is my first step toward that goal.
She started
out a really bad condition Baby Cotton Candy.
I mean horrible shape. I didn’t
have to remove her hair, because she had none.
I dyed her purple with RIT dye, and robbed some hair off a sad little
Medley who was happy to help.
Next I
painted her eyes, blaze, and symbols with Testors gloss enamel. That stuff stays tacky forever! I had thinned it down considerably, and her
eyes and blaze have dried, but her symbols are still tacky. Painting her symbols was difficult, too,
since Seashell has such a weird emblem.
If I could
do things differently, I would have bleached the pony out first. She had peppering on her face, and it soaked
up the dye more than the rest of her. I
also left her in the dye a tad too long, so she’s a very dark purple. And, of course, I would have used a
different paint. Despite all this,
though, I still adore her. She’s too
cute!
