When I was about five years old, my mother brought home the pink Pretty Pony to add to my collection. At this time, I already had several My Little Ponies, including the Pretty Parlor, and I was struck by the Pretty Pony’s similarity to Peachy. I decided that the giant pony was Peachy’s mother, and named her Big Momma Peachy.
It was only
a year or so later that Hasbro created the baby ponies, and I was no longer
sure where Big Momma Peachy fit into the scheme of things. You only have so many options with a giant pony,
and I decided that Big Momma Peachy was the goddess of the Little Ponies
(retaining her name, oddly enough).
Hey, what else can you do with a gigantic pony?
Big Momma
Peachy was guardian of Dream Valley, and when a pony misbehaved she met with
the Peach One’s swift form of justice: the crushing stomp of Big Momma Peachy’s
hooves. The Peach One would swoop down
from On High, stomp the offending pony, and soar back to her cloud, usually
with a wink of her eye and a wiggle of her tail. She would also, on occasion, crush the buildings of Dream Valley,
Godzilla-style, whenever the ponies were particularly bad. With time, she even gained a minion,
Firefly, who would zap bad ponies with her lightning bolts like Zeus. Even my cousin’s ponies came to fear Big
Momma Peachy. ~_^
Since I have
joined the MLP community, Big Momma Peachy has become a running joke between my
friends and me, as we wish for her to stomp the people who annoy us and pray
for her to give us luck finding ponies (we have, incidentally, learned that she
will accept the sacrifice of McDonald’s ponies whenever she has been
angered). I have built this little
shrine so that all may praise her and submit their wishes to the Peach One, and
repent if they have angered Her Righteousness.
Glory to Big Momma Peachy!
I’d like to give a big thanks to Lady Minty, who drew the really great picture of Big Momma Peachy and has shared so many laughs with me over Her Peachiness. I’d also like to thank Charlotte, who was the first to hear the Legend of Big Momma Peachy and made me post it at Kingsley’s Board. ^_^
