- The following web pages contain a list of mp3's I have on my
file server.
- I do not clam to have every song in mp3 by every Goth
or Industrial band, I just have a large collection. I also have
Techno, EBM & other music.
- There are over 8000 MP3's on my MP3 hard drive and I
am always adding more. (The RIAA can sux
my @$$)
- This list is roughly in alphabetical order.
- I have also posted links to the band's web page if I
know the web site. Links are usually found as the bands name posted in
blue. I have more than one link for some bands and none for others.
- Some listings include images I have on my computer of
band photos, album art, and other images items I had around.
- I also have over 200 movies in .avi format. (movie
list next?)
- Note: If you are downloading copyrighted
files beware of Trojan horse files the record companies have hired
hackers to create. These files will hurt your computer, be sure to
scan all files you download. The Music Industry is circulating bad
files to give what they call music pirates a hard time. These
bad files are found on KaZaA. The RIAA is also off with another round
of lawsuits.
- None of the money the RIAA gets from
suing it's customers will ever go to the Artists they clam to be
protecting, they are only truly looking out for their own profits.
Most of the mp3 sharing I know of is done in order to experiment with
new sounds and trade in music that isn't available in the record
shops. This went on long before computers and the internet. The first
music I got was on a blank tape a friend gave me, (music swapping,
sharing) from there I went and got my first record. Later I gave my
friend a tape with songs on it for her to listen to (oh no, more music
swapping!) Long before the internet people traded music on cassette
tapes, remember them? The RIAA didn't sue us then, the sharing of
mp3's isn't much different, I guess the RIAA doesn't remember cassette
tapes.
- The RIAA is launching a new wave of
lawsuits, this will only serve to hurt the music industry as others
like me that once purchased music on a regular basis are boycotting
many products. Seven of the record labels that sued people for file
sharing are Sony Music
Entertainment, Inc, BMG
Music, Virgin
Records America, Inc., Interscope
Records, Atlantic Recording
Corporation, Warner Brothers
Records, Inc., and Arista Records, Inc.
- Note to the RIAA: This is not a web
site sharing files, it is a list of music I purchased on Vinyl, CD,
Cassette, or other media over the years. I do believe that I
have the right to store my collection on my computer for personal use
(covered under fair use).
The actions taken by the RIAA are just a waste of time and money, and
doesn't support the artist who created the music. The
whole basis for the internet is to share information. Not all file
sharing on the internet is Piracy or Copyright Infringement. The fault
of the drop in record sales isn't from file sharing, most who do
download mp3's often go and buy the music, it's a sort of test drive
if you will. CD's cost the
members of the RIAA penny's on the dollar to produce & compensate
the artist. In the interest of greed, they greatly over-charge for
their product. The other factor behind the drop in record sales is the
quality of the product offered, or should I say the lack there of.
Most of the new artists produced over the past few years all sounds
the same, there is just less music I want, I don't idolize some ghetto
drug-dealing gang-banger, nor do I want that sort of trash in the
hands of my kids. Not all Americans like the package deal they offer,
a cookie cutter process that results in bands that all sound alike.
- If you are sharing files the RIAA
doesn't think you should there are web sites out that are trying to
get the RIAA and the government to realize that file sharing is here,
its not going away, and it's not the crime of the century. The fact is
file sharing is just a basic part of the internet and its not going to
be stopped by lawsuits. The RIAA missed the boat, file sharing could
have been a tool for them to to promote the bands, many small record labels
and bands offer their music on the internet for free download. These
people get it, they see that file sharing is just another tool and are
trying to use it.
- How you can help: Buy music from the independent
labels, if a band offers it's music for free download send them email
thanking them. See your favorite band live, and yes, do buy the CD. If
your boycotting the major labels there are lots of other choices out
there with a better verity of sounds. You won't hear independent music
on the radio thanks to the RIAA paying radio stations not to play it.
That's right, if you listen to the radio your only hearing music
covered by the RIAA, that's what you need to boycott. I don't listen
to the radio, there is nothing there I want to hear.
- Note: I collect music that fits in Goth / Industrial / Synth-pop /
Techno / Trance / Ambient / sounds and I have some other music
as well.
- The following pages are still in the works.
All pages might contain errors and some bands have been left off. I have started
with the bands in my mp3 file #1 and will add mp3's from my other two
files soon.
- Note: Some rough information on the Goth /
Industrial scene in Richmond, Virginia is posted at [LineNowhere].

- this list is not sharing MP3's, it is just listing my
personal collection.
- This list is just that, a list, if you are looking to
download an MP3 you are in the wrong place.
- Note: If you are in the need of a great file sharing
program try WinMx there
are other files other than just mp3's available. There isn't the
crappy spy ware and you don't get tons of pop-ups.
