Danish Special Operations Forces and LRRP / LRS-units

The NATO-country Denmark has 5 military special operations and LRS-units. They are:

Danish Military Protection Team (PSD)

* Jægerkorpset (JGK) : The JaegerCorps "The Hunters" are the Danish Army Special Forces (SOF) * Frømandskorpset (FKP) : The Frogmancorps are the Danish Navy SEALs (SOF) * Sirus-patruljen (PNG) : Patrol Northern Greenland, is a specialised arctic dogsledge patrol (LRSU) * Patruljekompagni / Danske Division : PTL COY / DDIV is a Army Reserve LRRP-coy (LRSC) - disbanded. * Patruljekompagni / Hærens Operative Kommando : PTL COY / AOC is a Danish National Guard / Territorial Army LRS Company which operats for the Danish Army Operations Command during war. (LRSC): now: SSR. * Special Support & Reconnaissance (SSR) : Danish National Guars Special Reconnaissance Coy - Former PTLCOY/AOC, now available to all Danish Defence Operational Commands (Army, Navy, Airforce) as a special reconnaisance unit.

Beside these national units, the danish armed forces has a varraity of light infantry, patroling, recon and scout units in the Army (Light Recce), Local Defence Regions and in the Local Homeguard. The units can be categorised by their Tasks, Capacities, Insertion methods, Operational range and time behind enemy lines. Anti-terrorist / Hostage Rescue / SWAT: Note: Anti-terrorist tasks are carried out by the Danish Police special reaction force AKS (Aktionsstyrken) (SWAT) Military units may only assist in National Counter-Terrorist Operations under the command of the Police. Protection Team / Personal Security Detail (PSD): Danish Defence Forces PSD are trained by Danish Army SOF and protectes Danish Goverment VIP's in Irak e.g. On a National level, protection of military and goverment VIP's, Danish Royals e.g. is carried out by the Danish Police.
