Please be patient while this page loads. I wanted to give everyone a good look at the cat run, incase they would also like to make one for their furbabies. Please feel free to take this idea, copy the pictures and make one for your own cats. An inside cat is a safe cat. This also gives them some "outside" access and fresh air and still be safe from harm.

This is how they get out, though a window in our basement, which we can lock when were not home. Excuse the bum shot :-)

try to imagine a plexi glass door and some shelves inside now to climb on. If you look closely you can see Boo peeking out the window.
This is the centre shelves pawpaw made because cats like to be up high to survey their kingdom .

Here Riley is sitting on the shelves pawpaw made him, so that he could get a good view of the yard.

And here it is the completed cat run.

Materials used: Hardware cloth at the top..much stronger and more rust resistant than chicken wire..which cats can break. Plexi glass at the bottom to keep out fleas and to prevent other cats from touching our cats..don't want to catch any germs. Roof is made of SunTuff plastic roofing material, to keep out rain and snow. Netting around the Hardware cloth to keep out mosiqutoes and other bugs. Built on raised wood floor and has indoor/outdoor carpeting. Shelves are optional but pawpaw thought the boys would love it. He also build a scratching post on the shelves too with sisal rope. Need hammer, nails, screws etc. We also put a tarp around the top for the winter to keep out snow. Oh yes an eavestrough was added later when we found rain was coming in :-). It is six by eight room. Please feel free to help yourselves to any of this information. My hubby is a great handy man so labour wasn't in the cost of it, which was between 700 and 1000 dollars, remeber the shelves are optional.

The Cats Den.. for those who want to give their kitties access to the great outdoors but don't want to build one like this and would like Enclouse Kits please visit this site. And Indoor cat is a safe cat..
