Meatball Variations

Basic Meatballs:

1 pound ground beef
1/2 lb. ground pork
1/2 c. chopped parsley
1 tsp. garlic
1 tbsp. minced onion
2 slices wet bread, squeezed to remove the water, broth or milk, or 1 egg
salt and pepper to taste

Bake uncovered at 350 degrees.
Small meatballs- 20 minutes
Large meatballs- 30 minutes
Variations:


Grape Jelly Meatballs
Create the basic meatball recipe, then add one jar of grape jelly, mixed with 1-2 cups of bbq sauce.


Oriental Meatballs
To the basic meatball mixture,
add 1 - 2 tsp. minced ginger and 1/4 c. chopped water chestnuts to the meatball.
Top with soy sauce.


Cherry Meatballs
Increase meat balance to 50/50.
Follow recipe for Oriental Meatballs, except do not top meatballs with soy sauce.  Add 1 tsp. soy to the meatball mixture.  Top with a can of cherry pie filling.


BBQ Meatballs
Make the basic meatball recipe.  Add 1 bottle of bbq sauce over the meatballs.


Honey Mustard Meatballs
Follow the basic meatball recipe, but add 1 tsp. thyme.  Top with 1 c. honey and 3 tbsp. dijon mustard.
