| In the spring of 1998 I purchased 3 bred heifers from Everett Sanderson to start a herd of Simbrah cattle. I chose Simbrah because I am located half way between Beaumont & Houston,Texas. It gets HOT & the humidity is always high. I knew I would need some type of Brahman cross cattle just to survive in this climate. One cow calved 16 days after I brought them home & he turned out to be the bull listed on the champions page JDI Overtime. He was the SA 2001 intermediate champion. I later bought SCC Dandy from Everett & Stagg Cattle Co. as a herd sire.I have kept a couple of his heifers. Since then I have purchased cattle from Strack Farms,Pine Ridge Ranch,Faske Cattle, Triple SSS & 4F Cattle Co. In 2002 I purchased TSC Texas Pride as my new herd sire. The next day he won Reserve Champion Simbrah Bull at Houston. I am keeping heifers out of him for replacement & this year 2005 I purchased my first purebred Simmental from H&H Simmentals in Weatherford Okla. I will be purchasing 2 or 3 more Simmental heifers in 2006 to breed to Pride for 3/4 blood calves. I just purchased FF Fusion R504 a Simmental bull to cross back on some of my Simbrah cows for 3/4 bloods also.
