Chapter five.....
The very week that Brian lost his job, Moo Cow was asking for him to terminate his parental rights! Basically, it was told to us, that unless he did this, her behavior would continue, every three months or so, to the court! She would try to press charges on him for being in arrears, even though she knew he was unemployed. She was stating that he was voluntarily unemployed, just to get out of paying child support!! The very day Brian lost his job, we called our attorneys….and let them know what was going on. They filed a motion for a modification for Child Support….and the only thing that’s happened with that so far, is that Moo Cow, and the female dog lawyer, have postponed, and continued every date that we asked for. Ultimately, Brian signed the termination papers, as he was looking for some peace in our lives, and that of the girls, and is hopeful that this will be the answer. Shortly after all of this occurred, we discovered that I was expecting a baby! You can imagine how scared I was, especially since Brian had just lost his job! Well, the 2 weeks following announcing our pregnancy were full of stress, especially from the Moo Cow. I ended up having a miscarriage, on the 5th of July, which was my son’s birthday. Brian and I took a drive up to the Shenandoah Mountains, to some family property, and had a burial for the baby. Following this, Brian was looking very hard for a new job, and still had found nothing, the telecom market is very tight now, with many lay-offs. What timing, huh? Well, the termination papers had been amended by both parties, and Moo Cow was waiving all support, child support, spousal support, and arrearages. In return, she was asking that Brian waive the clause in his property settlement agreement, in regards to the van that was still in both names. According to this agreement, she was to have taken his name off of the van, and the loan, by March 16, 2001. She flatly refused to do so, we even took her to a dealership to help her get financed…which she was, she just didn’t like the deal they gave her, so she refused. Well, Brian reluctantly agreed to waive this clause. Our attorney felt that it was the best thing to do. They forwarded this to the female dog attorney, and it was supposed to go on to the court. During this time, on July 25 to be exact, Bethany’s adoption was final! Brian was her daddy!!! We were all very happy about this! Then, we found out that the Judge refused to sign the termination papers. He was stating that J D & R (Juvenile & Domestic Relations) court held jurisdiction over this case, even though it had only been heard in circuit court over the past 2 ½ years. So, we are waiting for Moo Cow, and the female dog to send it to J D & R court. As of now, they have not done so, and Moo Cow is refusing all visitations, even though Brian asked for one last visit. To her credit though, she has not asked for any Child Support since the termination papers were drawn up. She has however, caused some problems with the arrearages, demanding that Brian pay for some, even though she’s waived them……this issue has yet to be resolved. Well, during all of this, Brian and I discovered that I’m pregnant, yet again!!! We don’t know exactly when I’m due, but its sometime in April….we will be updating this as soon as we know more!
