Australia has had many outlaws, or bushrangers, as we call them here. The above are the most well known. Ceasar was a first fleet convict, and probably our first bushranger. When Brady was sentenced to death women wept in the court, and his cell was filled with flowers. John or Jack Donohue was also known as 'The Wild Colonial Boy.' Frank Gardiner was released and moved to San Francisco where he ran the Twilight Saloon. Ned Kelly made armour for himself, but was shot in the knees by troopers and later hanged. |
