Kusina ni Manang

I am a Filipina, a doctor by profession, who migrated to the US in August 2003 and now married to an American.

I am a stay-at-home mom (I was a widow with two sons; my husband a divorcee with a daughter), so I tend to dwell over long periods of time on the internet as a hobby. And this webpage is a result of kabubutingting with computers, and my other hobbies are quite obvious with its contents.

The recipes featured here may be:

1. Filipino foods which I and my kids like but the ingredients of which I may or may not have to modify according to what are available. My husband may or may not like it, but as he says, "Eat whatever you feel like eating."

2. American foods which are acceptable and enjoyable to the Filipino taste buds.

I thought of adding canning recipes as an addition in case some of my future readers will include those in the farm and/or have the possibility of raising her own vegetable garden and canning some produce like green beans, tomato based products (stewed tomatoes, ketchup, salsa, etc.). This spring we already have seedlings of some veggies, and we have collected recipes for canning. Probably by the end of summer, I would have come up with the pages for these including photos.

Foodblog features my daily input of kitchen tips, health and nutrition tips, and miscellaneous topics.
