Yahoo! is closing Geocities after years of service. At it's height Geocities was the heart of creativity on the internet. Many of the greatest sites of all time were created for free on Geocities.

With the closure of Geocities, and the Angelfire, Link.Tripod and .Googlepages not seeming entirely secure it may be time to start worrying about the freedom of information on the internet.
Or equally possible, it may just hearken in the era of blogging and social networking...
