I Shall Not Die for Thee

By Padraic Colum

O woman, shapely as the swan,
On your account I shall not die:
The men you've slain -- a trivial clan --
Were less than I.
I ask me shall I die for these --
For blossom teeth and scarlet lips --
And shall that delicate swan-shape
Bring me eclipse?

Well-shaped the breasts and smooth the skin,
The cheeks are fair, the tresses free --
And yet I shall not suffer death,
God over me!

Those even brows, that hair like gold,
Those languorous tones, that virgin way,
The flowing limbs, the rounded heel
Slight men betray!

Thy spirit keen through radiant mien,
Thy shining throat and smiling eye,
Thy little palm, thy side like foam --
I cannot die!

O woman, shapely as the swan,
In a cunning house hard-reared was I:
O bosom white, O well-shaped palm,
I shall not die!
To Be A Star

By Penny Kotyk

Lost in pools of darkness,
Sparkling like jewels in the night,
Always and forever watching,
These diamonds of the sky.
Eternal vigil over the heavens,
Gazing upon the earth,
Guiding those with lost passion,
Through the nights darkened curse,
Blinking brighter to those that see,
Displaying their graceful beauty,
Dancing swiftly through a blackened sea,
If only a star could I be.
Walk In Peace

By Penny Kotyk

Walk in peace.
Silence stirs, leaves russle,
Winds howl, clouds move,
And time has once again, Stepped forth to claim me.
Walk in peace.
Birds stop flying, The trees hold still,
Waves crawl to the shore, My breath has cease to be,
Deaths grasp is tight, My heart does bleed.
Walk in Peace.
Souls cry out from unseen corners,
Shadows swim around me, I feel lost and forgotten. Whispers I hear,Speaking gently words,
Time is indeed here, Your love my cure.
Walk in peace.
Forbidden to touch, Never to hold,
Time is against us, My desires untold,
My heart I give you, My life is yours,
Dark Angel, be passionate, Take me from this world.
Walk in peace.
