1. Sandbag bottoms and sides of every vehicle even if armored, find vehicle expert in unit put him in charge of vehicle hardening/arming team; disagree with 4-seat HMMWV doors removed return fire gunslinger TTP; fabric doors can hold a couple old PASGT flak jackets for side command detonated landmine/IED protection; better would be a wood/metal structure to hold sandbags on HMMWV sides figured out where is TSGT Cullins of WWII hedgreow fame when you need him?

2. Order gunshields/underbelly armor for M113 Gavins, gunshields for HMMWVs, make expedient steel gunshields and side door hanging plates for FMTV type trucks

3. Paint TAN CARC every vehicle

4. Arm every vehicle with a ring or pedestal mount machine gun or a Soldier with M16 AR/M249 LMG with bipod; if you are not armed enemy will attack you because your vehicle is weak looking and a target that can't fight back

5. Have chain of command get war-stock M113 Gavins to replace HMMWV/FMTV trucks ASAP

4. Quik-clot/2 field dressings on every Soldier, blood type on BDUs and brown t-shirts

5. Hard body armor: either IBA or ISAPO wear plates at all times

6. Ballistic eye protection Wiley-X is goggles and eyeglasses combo; with glint cover

7. Read Sun Tzu's The Art of War, Van Crevald's The Transformation of War, Heinlein's Starship Troopers and Col Hackworth's Vietnam Primer and Guerrilla BN

9. 550 cord pull loops on bottom of all M16/M4 magazines; carabiner on LBE to hold empties; rigger's belt on BDU pants for emergency rappel/helo extractions

17. Lead and trail vehicle of every convoy just one driver and full of sand in cargo bed; sand can be used to put out tire protester fires; if hit by enemy RPGs, land mines the sand absorbs the blast effects, protects point and rear driver

18. Have entire unit build giant terrain model of area of operations and constantly improve accuracy/detail; will improve everyone's situational awareness and could save lives in an E & R

19. Place rucksacks outside of vehicles (strap to cargo bed troop side posts outside sandbag walls) to add extra ballistic protection, have generic pack list for each ruck with vital items so ANY Soldier can know where to get spare ammunition, grenades etc. without searching, be clever, determine BEST arrangement then make everyone do it
