January or February 1988 Inner Ear Studios, Arlington, VA Merchandise, In Defense of Humans, Break-In, Song #1, Bad Mouth, The Word, Furniture, Waiting Room, And The Same, Joe #1, Turn Off Your Guns "In Defense of Humans" is on the State of the Union compilation; all others can be found on various commercial bootlegs.  Strangely, no single bootleg includes all eleven songs.  These songs became Fugazi's first demo -- they supposedly handed out tapes of this demo on their first American tour.
who knows?
Glue Man Demo, Burning Demo The sound track version of "Glue Man" can be found in the Jem Cohen short film of the same name -- it combines a demo of the song with a remixed portion of the album version.  I've heard a tape of a really weird, slow version of "Burning" so let's just say that it was recorded at this session, too.
June 1988 Inner Ear Studios, Arlington, VA Burning, Waiting Room, Give Me The Cure, Bad Mouth, Bulldog Front, Suggestion, Glue Man Fugazi EP and 13 Songs CD.  The band used the rough mix of the EP as their second demo; it includes little things like Ian tuning his guitar before "Waiting Room", a false start to "Bulldog Front", and an extended fade-out ending to "Suggestion" with Guy singing "we are all guilty of it" plus an instrumental coda.
November 12, 1988 Hippodrome, London, England Waiting Room, Merchandise, Break-In, Glue Man John Peel session broadcast January 11, 1989 on Radio One.  Available on various bootlegs, most notably GG MacKaye & the DC Funazis and Function Is The Key.
December 1988 Southern Studios / Greenhouse Studios, London, England Margin Walker, And The Same, Burning Too, Provisional, Lockdown, Promises, The Word, Link Track (multiple versions), four other songs Drums were recorded at one studio and everything else was recorded at the other.  The first six songs are on the Margin Walker EP and 13 Songs CD; "The Word" was included on the 20 Years Of Dischord box set; "Link Track" and four other songs remain unreleased. Fugazi and Margin Walker were both supposed to be full-length albums, but the band wasn't satisfied with all of the songs recorded, so they had to be whittled down to EPs.
