CLASSIC AS THE WORLD TURNS
Introduction
Welcome to my Classic "As the World Turns" web page.
Covered on this web page will be some of the storylines and people that helped make ATWT a long-running classic, and the main focus will be the years 1956 through 1989.
WHAT'S NEW--As of April 6, 2001
- I have added synopses for 1971 and 1972.
- COMING SOON: In the next few weeks, I will add early 1970s summaries and make corrections to the aforementioned synopsis years.
- I want to thank Mr. Jim Reed for sending copies of ATWT synopses from Bryna Laub's Daytime Serial Newsletter. These synopses cover the years from 1972 to 1978, and summaries based on them will be added to the website this fall. I have already included some of the material in my status chart.
- I would like to thank Mark "eonman" Faulkner and Chuck Snitchler for the ATWT logo frame grabs shown on this page.

How You Can Help Me Make This Web Site Work!
If you can provide information that can help me successfully pull off this web site, please let me know via e-mail. Here is some information that I think will help me:
- From the April 1982 issue of Afternoon TV magazine, Linda Susman's article about Mary Ellis Bunim's 1981/82 overhaul of ATWT ("An Old Show Gets a New Face.")
- Old issues of Bryna Laub's Soap Opera Newsletters from the 1970s with daily and weekly synopses of ATWT which I could use for my storyline timeline/diary.
- Your own personal journals of your viewing of ATWT episodes from 1956 to the end of 1989.
- Soap Opera magazine items and diary notes on actors who played small roles on ATWT from 1956 to the present. Most day players are not listed or mentioned in Julie Poll's ATWT Complete Family Scrapbook, so I want to use what actor information you can provide for a day player/recurring list.
- Leads on articles and items on former ATWT cast members for a possible "Where are they now?" section.
- Audio and video recordings of ATWT episodes from 1956 through 1989. I am especially interested in tapes of surviving complete ATWT episodes from 1975 through 1984, so I can study Charles Paul's musical contributions from 1975 through 1981 and the musical changes made during the Mary Ellis Bunim regime (1981-1984) for my music history. (Be warned, however, that I am new to tape trading, and I do not have that many episodes of ATWT or other soaps to offer for trade. Thus, I'll have to go the rookie trader route of sending blank videocassettes and postage at first or paying your asking price if I see something I like.)
Thank you, and keep visiting as I build this site over the next few weeks. I hope this will follow in the tradition of other soap opera history pages web sites (i.e. Eddie Drueding's Another World Home Page and Sandy Weeks' One Life to Live History Page).
