MOLLY 30 SEP 1727

NOTE: This ship's list also appears on Palatine Passenger Lists - Lists on the The Olive Tree Genealogy Home Page where you will find List A/ The Captain's List, as well. The author has chosen to include List B for this ship, as Christian Wenger is one of her husband's main line immigrants, and David Martin is a direct line ancestor. On List A, it is felt that Christian Wenger is listed as Christian Willand.

[List 3 B] Palatines Imported in the ship Molly, John Hodgeson, Master, from London, who hereunto sett their hands, 30th Sept. 1727, in the presence of the Governor and Council.

NOTE: David Martin: His father was Christian Martin, not Christian Wenger. David's parents, Christian and Ells Martin, came on the ship Pink Plaisance, September 21, 1732, along with two sisters of David, Fravin and Fronkik Martin. They are listed on this ship as Christn. Martin, 63, Ells Marty, 60, Fravin Martin,16, and Fronik Martin, under age 16. Another brother, Hans Heinrich Martin came with his wife, Anna Oberholtzer and family on the ship Britannia on September 21, 1731. The Martin family settled in Weaverland, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Jacob Martin is believed to have been a brother to David. Krebiel and Kryebiel are variant spellings of Kraybill and Graybill. Thus, these men are believed to have been related to Eve Graybill, wife of Christian Wenger, immigrant above. The Guth name is believed to have become Good.

Kathryn F. Oyler sends this information regarding Hans Jerig Vogele and Hans Jerig Arnoldt who came to this country in Ship William and Sarah landing in Philadelphia in September 1727.

Hans Jerig Vogele was a tenant farmer on the Von Gemmigen estate in Germany (documented) and was married on 30 November 1717 in Treschklingen, Germany to Catharina Barbara Arnoldt, daughter of Hans Jerig Arnoldt. Arnoldt was a member of the law court and a carpenter - his wife was Barbara Frey who died 12 January 1707 and is buried in Treschklingen, Germany. The Freys were originally of Swiss origin.

Hans Jerig Arnoldt remarried a widow Anna Catharina Grob whose husband Felix Grob was a clothmaker at Eppingen. The 6 1/2 people in Hans Jerg Arnoldt's party were: Hans Jerig Arnoldt and his wife Anna Catharina Grob, Hans Jerig Vogele and wife Catharina Barbara, son Albrecht who was born 20 September 1718 in Germany, son Johann Georg born 3 December 1721, Treschklingen, Germany and died 10 October 1805 in Maiden Creek Township, Berks County, Pa. and the 1/2 person daughter Catharina who probably was born in 1727 and was nursing infant time of departure.

Hans Jerig Arnoldt died at sea and no record has been discovered as to what happened to his wife who was Hans Jerig Vogele's mother in law. I have will and land deeds for Hans Jerig Vogele.

Son Johann Georg Vogele and Catharina Barbara had seven children, 4 sons and 3 daughters. I have information concerning all.

His son Christian migrated after his father's death into Northumberland County, Pennsylvania, where he owned extensive property. Christian had 13 children, some of who became quite wealthy and prominent in Northumberland County as well as in Carbon County, Pennsylvania.

Kathryn Oyler's lineage is as follows:
Christian Vogele (now spelled Fagley or Fegley) was born 3 September 1767 died 31 December 1845 was married to Magdalena Lehman born 18 April 1773 and died 19 June 1843.
Christian's son John born 28 February 1797 died 24 December 1866 was married to Elizabeth Unger born 29 May 1806 and died 9 February 1886. They had eight children.
Their son Benneville born 31 July 1832 died 21 March 1890 was married twice (Susan Shaffer? and Emma Williams). Benneville had 11 children.
His son Harry born 13 September 1866 died 21 May 1912 was married to Elizabeth Biles born 24 June 1869 and died 22 September 1953 had five children, 2 survived a diptheria epidemic.

Anyone interested in the descendants of Johann Georg Vogele may contact Kathryn F. Oyler, 6345 Dogwood Place, Falls Church, Virginia 22041-1208
