Mid-August is the best time to view the wildflower display along Galena Creek. .
Views from Tahoe Rim Trail (TRT) Summit on Relay Peak include the Lake Tahoe Basin and surrounding peaks (Mt. Tallac, Pyramid Pk, above the southwest shore and Jobs Peak, Jobgs Sister and Freel Peak in the Carson Range to the southeast;
Reno/Sparks, the Little Truckee reservoirs of Prosser, Boca and Stampede; Donner lake, to the west and the Sierra Buttes to the north; and Mt. Lassen (on a clear dat at 115 miles away). All except Reno are visable from the TRT summit on Relay pk.
