For the most part these magazines have little to do with this Website. We just thought the cover artwork was nice so we posted them. There are some, however, that feature stories on Depression-era outlaws. Additionally, these types of magazines were among the most popular reading material in the 1930s. They often featured wanted posters of known criminals. Members of the Dillinger gang were popular subjects of those wanted posters. Bonnie Parker was an avid reader of true crime magazines, and one or two issues were found among her belongings in the death car. |
