PEARCE
                       PEARCE
Pearce is named for Jimmie Pearce, a Tombstone miner who bought some ranch land here in the early 1890's. In 1894, he was scouting around when he found gold, and was back in the mining business as an owner now.  The town sprung up at the base of the mining claim.     That year a store was built by Soto Bros. and Renaud. It still stands in excellent shape today.  In 1896, the post office opened.  It also still stands today in good condition.  Also still standing are, a jail, the school and some other ruins.
