| On February 2, 1882, Milton Brown founded the McGregor Mine about 3.25 miles southwest of San Lorenzo. They mined copper here. The town of Sherman sprang up nearby. It is located in Southwest New Mexico in the Mimbres River Valley. It is on Highway 61 a few miles north of City of Rocks State Park. | ||||||||||||||||||
