Welcome To My Clocks These are the most involved items in my shop. Some of them take weeks (literally) to cut and finish. These are my pride and joys! |

Gold Wall Clock Totally unique to my shop, this clock is cut entirely from 1/4" cabinet-grade Birch plywood and painted Gold. It stands 34" high, 5" deep and 14" wide. The clock features full Westminster chimes on the hour and chimes on the quarter-hour. The bottom front side of the clock is a door that opens to a compartment intended as a display cabinet. |

19th Century Fire Engine Clock Black Walnut with Black Cherry trim are the materials for this creation. The clock features a padded red velvet seat and a real, working, brass bell. The clock stands 18" high, 5" deep and over 29" long. All of the wheels are fully operational, front suspension is steerable. Other features are the Westminster chimes on the hour and chimes on the quarter-hour. |

Sherwood Mantle Clock This Victorian Mantle Clock is somewhat unique to my shop in two ways. It contains something other than solid wood - facing and rear walls being cabinet-grade plywood for strength and stability; and it has some surfaces stained to enhance the visual effects. The whole clock is cut from Red Oak (whether solid or ply) and the clockworks feature a full pendulum movement with Westminster chimes on the hour and chimes on the quarter-hour. It stands 24" high, 20" wide and 6" deep. |

Normandy Mantle Clock This beautiful Victorian Mantle Clock is cut entirely from solid Black Cherry and stands just over 40" high, 20" wide and 9" deep. Much of the interior is enhanced with variable intensity lighting. Each of the five towers has a working brass bell. The clockworks feature full Westminster chimes on the hour and chimes on the quarter-hour. Overall, this clock consists of 200+ separate parts and over 1200 separate cut-outs, weighing in at nearly 14 lbs. The first one took almost 900 hours to cut, assemble and finish, but it sure was worth it. Note: earlier I spoke of the changing of colors that Cherry wood performs over time. This picture was taken of the clock when it was just a few days out of the shop - gives you an idea of the color of brand new Cherry wood. Already, the color has changed to a brilliant bright red and the clock is only about 2 years old. A few more years will see it in its final color - the classic Cherry Red. |

Well y'all, that's my shop! I hope all y'all enjoyed touring it as much as I enjoyed publishing it. These projects are fun, expensive sometimes but fun. Go ahead back to the directory (below) and continue touring our little website. If'n y'all haven't been to the Family Pages yet, I can certainly recommend them. There's pic's there that go back to the 1940's along with stories. There are also sections with Susan's kitchen and bakery, Bumper Stickers (politics), my hobby shack, the military rooms with my entire USAF career, the War Memorial which is dedicated to those lost in all the wars of our country, our little Chapel, all kinds of goodies. By the way, my father was the one that got me into woodworking in the first place. Just below you'll find a button shooting you over to his shop. Take a look-see, you won't be sorry. . |
