I also make a bit of furniture, old-time gingerbread restorations on houses and signs in the shop. Here are a few examples.

Made entirely from various types of maple, this table is sturdy enough to drive a car on. There's room allotted on it for knives, paper towels, a storage shelf for anything you'd like on the left side (which includes small hooks on the outside for tool hanging) and a drawer built-in under the butcher block top. All this, plus a storage shelf on the bottom.
Standing 40" wide, 20" deep and 24" high, this chest is cut entirely from 3/4" solid Eastern Red Cedar.
This little item is made from standard, everyday Ponderosa Pine, heavily stained with Red Mahogany stain (3 applications) and finished with spar urethane.
Note the finger-joint drawer. The fingers were hand-cut and fitted, as all my finger-joints are. There's even a bookshelf on the bottom.
