We DO NOT sell teeny tiny Chihuahuas. We own and breed Chihuahuas between 3 1/2 to 6 pounds. The breed standard is up to 6 pounds, and a 6 pound dog is still a very tiny animal. It is not productive to a secure future for the breed to breed dogs that are referred to as "teacups", "miniatures", or "pocket size". These terms are made up by those breeders wanting a marketing strategy to make their dogs sound unique or exotic in order to sell them and to get an inflated price out of. Generally, these terms are used to describe the runts of the litter, or for those pups who for some reason, fail to grow properly or become a normal sized Chihuahua. This could mean organ dysfunction.
The Chihuahua Club Of America warns people of this, and if you scroll down to the bottom of this page, you will find a button to click that will take you to the statement issued by the Chihuahua Club of America about standard size and how teacups and etc are not terms recognized by AKC. Anyone using these terms when trying to sell you a puppy should be looked upon as suspect. Never should anyone try to sell you a substandard dog, and you should never pay for one. An excessively small Chihuahua can bring you much heartache as well as immense vet bills.
