Reunion 2000
USS Talbot County (LST 1153)
Surfside Inn, Virginia Beach, Virginia
April 14 - 15, 2000

April 14, 2000. A warm greeting on a cold rainy weekend. The marquee of the Surfside Inn in Virginia Beach Virginia reaches out to the veterans of service aboard the USS Talbot County (LST 1153) inviting them to join in a weekend of reunion and fellowship.

Milevoy Kotay, former BT3, the first President of the USS Talbot County (LST 1153) Association, and his wife Janet, receive a certificate of appriciation from the former crew of the ship.

A close up of the certificate presented to Milevoy and Janet. On behalf of the former crew, former Talbot County Executive Officer William Spurrier presented this certificate of appriciation. His opening words during the presentation were, "Things of this nature do not just happen, they take a lot of work to make happen" To Milevoy and Janet, as well as to their assistants, Don and Yevette Hepburn and Joe and Mary Topor, go our deepest appriciation for shouldering that work and making these events happen. For many of us these reunions are among the treasured memories of our lives. Bravo Zulu to ALL involved!!

One of the reasons for the delay in publishing this information and photos is that the notes I made during the reunion, including the identification of many who attended, has been misplaced. My apologies to all. Though those of us who were not previously acquainted were introduced, there were many new faces to me and it is not possible for me to remember the names that went with each new face. The picture below is a key to the photo above and those that I do not have names for are labeled X-1 thru X-12. If anyone can supply those names it would be greatly appriciated. Also attending the reunion but AWOL when these pictures were taken were former FT3 Charles DiMaria, Former EM3 Hugh Whiting and former MM2 Don Brasseth. The photo below the diagram is simply a different angle of the one above.

This page is under construction and much more is to be added, including the I.D.'s of those above, as I have them and the pictures of the wives and companions of those shown above.
