Today the world of Art has changed in the way that there are fewer and fewer artists being trained from other artists.
More and more artists are learning from nobody and going out on their own to learn art. Reason, schools are expensive and jobs are in major competition from the market of artists past saturating the art world.
It is also the day of the print where fewer and fewer original pieces are being sold making it hard to make a living as a fine artist..
The Digital Artist is now head of the castle and can work anywhere in the world from the confort of home. Your supplys are cheap your name travels fast, because you are promoting yourself via the internet.
So artists today have to be adaptable to any situation. If a customer needs a 13 page Illustration for a kids book you better have already sent out the concepts for the book that day, or the job will be gone.
Artists make more money in todays job field than ever before and are needed for every idea that needs to be placed on paper. Since todays artist are adaptable however some artists can work on many designs all at once. This can leave the job market very hard to get into if your new.
So thinking about Art and being an Artist. I would say learn to be a Digital Artist to pay for your fine art hobby or you will be out in the cold with nothing but your paint to keep you warm.
