Background- Tyson lives with his grandfather in Bay City in a house which has been converted into a dojo. He practices martial arts with his grandfather when he is not beyblading. Tyson has no mother, and it is assumed she died when he was very young. It is said he has a father, but Tyson shares no physical or emotional traits with this man whatsoever, making it questionable on whether or not they are actually blood-related. Presumably, this man is in reality Tyson's stepfather, which would explain why Tyson appears so much like his grandfather but looks nothing like the man said to be his father. One can safely assume Tyson has only a grandfather as a surviving blood relation and his stepfather is simply called "father" as a formality. Tyson acquired his bit beast through Dragoon's choosing of him-- a typical way humans come to possess bit beasts. Attracted to Tyson's headstrong attitude and vibrant personality, Dragoon emerged from the sword in which he was encased and bonded mentally with Tyson.
Personality- Tyson is the undisputed loudmouth of his team. He is self-indulgent, stubborn, and quick-tempered, but though he has his faults, he is intensely loyal to his beliefs and to his friends. He never allows himself to be swayed into changing his mindset, whether he is right or wrong, and he never follows the crowd, despite how unpopular his opinion may be. Tyson's stubbornness can also be a plus for him. Without it, he would never have the motivation to go out and accomplish the things that he does. By default, Tyson is laid back and can be rather lazy, but when he's faced with a challenge, a threat, an insult (or one of his close friends are faced with such things), don't expect him to take it calmly. Just like his zodiac sign, Taurus, represented by a bull, Tyson can be happily eating away one minute then be raging mad the next. It never takes much to anger a bull, same with Tyson, and when something sets him off he will charge tirelessly until the job is finished, and woe be the fool who stands in front of a charging bull. All-in-all, Tyson is often misjudged and misunderstood. Though he is loud and audacious, he is devoted and would make a fun, entertaining, and loyal friend to anyone. No one can say he never tried to get along with Kai.

Bit Beast- Dranzer
Background- Kai possesses the most compelling and disturbing past out of anyone. Born and raised in Moscow, Russia, he was sent by his grandfather to live at Balkov Abbey under the care of Boris Balkov. He was trained extensively by the scientists in the secret basement of the abbey, and was fortunate enough to survive all he was put through. As a result of his intense curiosity, he snuck into one of the testing facilities and had a bout with the Black Dranzer, which was created during his early childhood at the abbey. Overwhelmed by the power of the black phoenix, Kai forced himself to forget all events he had lived through at the abbey and was not reminded of them until he returned to Moscow for the World Championships with the Bladebreakers. How Kai acquired Dranzer is unknown, and the whereabouts of his parents is also unknown. It is rumored both are alive, the father working for Biovolt (the organization headed by Kai's grandfather Voltaire).
Personality- Kai is a very dynamic being. He is self-assured, but also self-destructive. He knows he is immensely powerful and can overwhelm any opposing force, but if ever he is proved wrong, he puts a great deal of mental strain upon himself, ripping and beating at himself mentally. Along with being powerful, Kai is also extremely vengeful, but rather than lash out rashly as Tyson would, he remains silent for a while, plotting out the best means of revenge before taking action. Similar to his grandfather, Kai craves power and perfection, which makes him susceptible to temptation. For example, although Kai resented the idea of being used by Boris, he fell prey to the temptation of possessing Black Dranzer, an immensely powerful bit beast. Kai's antisocial nature makes him seem cold-hearted, and although he has the tendency to be so, he is most often swayed by the desire for power. Despite this, Kai can be just as loyal as Tyson, but makes much less of a show of it.


Rei
 Birthdate- July 12, 1986

Bit Beast- Driger
Background- Rei, formerly a member of the White Tiger team, grew up in an isolated village in China with a race of people with catlike features and abilities. He has no known relations, and people often question who and what his parents are, most joking that one parent is human and the other is tiger because of his appearance. This is a more improbable explanation, but it would easily explain the feline traits. Rei was the most skilled beyblader in his village and was given the sacred white tiger bit by the grandfather of his best friend, Lee. Not satisfied with being pent-up in the tiny village, Rei set out to explore the world and acquire new beyblading techniques and knowledge. Misunderstanding his reasons for leaving, Lee and the rest of the White Tiger team charged him with the crime of being a traitor and pursued him, looking to take back the Driger bit beast. Rei eventually met up with his former teammates in China for the Asian Tournament and proved to his friend Lee his intentions were good.
Personality- Rei is a very calm and patient person. He has a thick outer shell, meaning it takes a lot to make him angry. He is content to settle something with words rather than by physical means, but will fight if needed. Rei is understanding of both himself and others, but will speak up if something bothers him (ie. Tyson's whining). He takes losing much more easily than Tyson and Kai, appreciative of the fact that he learns something no matter what the outcome of battle is. Although he is often as gentle as a house cat, it is unwise to test his limits, because every tiger has claws.


Max
Birthdate- June 3, 1987

Bit Beast- Draciel
Background- Max comes in early on, meeting up with Tyson and Kenny when he moves to Bay City. He lives on the floor above the hobby shop owned by his father, but often travels across the country to visit his mother in New York at the BBA research facility. Max's parents are divorced, which makes him appreciate time with his mother even more. He does not become aware of his mother's job with the BBA until a few weeks before the American Tournament, and it comes as a large surprise to him to find out she is coaching the team he is set to face. Max acquired his bit beast Draciel by accident. The bit piece was encased within a necklace that was formerly owned by his grandmother, and when his beyblade flew out of the dish and broke the necklace pendant open, Max put the bit piece onto the top of his beyblade as decoration, but got much more than he had expected.
Personality- Max is all sugar and candy. He is very energetic and youthful, and his energy seems to radiate and make all those around him smile. He rarely ever gets angry, and tends to channel any negative feelings into a productive force. Max works hard to win and to impress his mother, and although he comes off as the stereotypical dumb blonde, he often does intelligent things without ever meaning to.

Kenny
 Birthdate- September 10, 1990

Background- Not much is known of Kenny's family life or where he came from. He meets Tyson when a local bully named Carlos shows up with stolen beyblades and challenges Tyson's friend Andrew to a battle. Kenny helps Tyson increase the power of his own beyblade and they are friends from then on. His bit beast is trapped within his laptop due to a freak electrical storm.
Personality- Kenny is the stereotypical computer nerd. He is small, frail, has large glasses, is extremely book-smart, but when it comes to physical tasks he fails. He is easily frightened and overtaken, but knows how to assert himself and dish out orders when they are needed. He coaches the Bladebreakers and is a valuable source of information.

Background- Lee grew up in an uncharted village deep within the subtropical forests of China. The village in which he and his teammates lived was so isolated from the rest of the population that they were deprived of many modern devices, such as televisions and telephones, and as a result Lee and his friends grew up playing with beyblades since they did not have any high-tech toys. Lee's only known relation is his grandfather, who is head of the village. Lee's grandfather had kept the sacred Driger bit beast within a jewel-encrusted box, and Lee had hoped to be deserving of it, but in the end his best friend Rei was the one who received it. Lee took this well until Rei left the village. Misunderstanding his friend's intentions, Lee and his teammates set out after Rei and Driger.
Personality- Similar to Tyson, Lee is a very stubborn person. He is a creature of habit, which means that once he has a set way of life, he becomes very upset when major changes occur in it. Because Lee grew up in a village where the citizens were content to remain for their entire lives, Lee was completely surprised when his best friend Rei decided to leave one day without warning. Lee tends to have a short temper, which caused him to jump to the wrong conclusion about Rei's reason for leaving. This resulted in a long dispute between the two friends, but despite Lee's stubbornness, he has a strong will and is intensely loyal to friends, family, and tradition.


Mariah

Background- Mariah grew up in the same village as Lee, Rei, and her other teammates. None of her relations are discussed. All that is known is she befriended Rei, Lee, and the others, and often received protection from bullying from them. Much of her childhood was spent watching Rei and Lee beyblade together, and though it is never mentioned that she beybladed as a child, it can be assumed she did.
Personality- Mariah is very self-assured. She cares intensely for her friends, and is prone to being maternal, which means she sometimes acts as a mother toward people she cares strongly about. She most often mothers Kevin, which is probably due to the fact that he is much smaller and younger. She has a strong sense of right and wrong, and does not hesitate to let others know if what they are doing is just or unjust.

Background- Kevin grew up with his teammates in a remote village in China. Not much is said of his background, other than the fact that he looked up to Rei as a child. There is no mention of any relations to Kevin, though Mariah tends to take the position of his mother in that she tries to drive him towards doing what is right and scolds him when he does something wrong.
Personality- Being young, Kevin is quite energetic and mischievous. He is skilled at sneaking around and at crawling and jumping. Jokingly, he is often referred to as a monkey or squirrel, but actually these descriptions are not far off at all. Kevin tends to be sneaky and makes up small lies and stories to get his way, but he is not a bad person. He still is learning of mature ways to solve problems, and because he is still young he tends to go to extremes, taking the first option that comes to mind as a solution rather than working things out. Despite the mischief that he causes, he is a kind friend.

Background- Gary was raised in the same village as the rest of the White Tiger team. Nothing is said of his family, but he often receives maternal treatment from Mariah as Kevin does, although Mariah tends to nag Gary more so. Despite the lack of information on the background of the White Tiger team members, Gary does bring to the surface a fond memory of a pig roast.
Personality- Gary tends to be a rather slow person. This is not to say he is stupid, but rather he just is not up to speed with the rest of the world, making him rather laid back. Gary really does not get angry often, and he is extremely patient with Kevin. He tends to relate memories to food, remembering things mainly because some meal was present at the time, so it is obvious what Gary enjoys besides beyblading. He is not very talkative and tends to let others lead him, but all-in-all he is reliable and strong, especially with his bit beast Galzzly.

Background- Nothing is known about Michael's family. All that is known is he is a American citizen who was enlisted by the BBA research facility for study. He eventually became research team's captain.
Personality- Michael makes most obvious his regard of himself-- which is quite high! He is vain and arrogant and tends to get aggressive in a challenge, but unlike most he can channel his aggressiveness into a reliable form of energy. The biggest thing about Michael is his ego. He loves to receive attention and enjoys showing off to the crowd. At the beginning of the American Tournament, Michael took a skydive into the Glitter Dome, and without consent from the team coach. Needless to say, the coach was not pleased, but Michael could have cared less. Although he is often in the "me, me, me" mindset, Michael is loyal to his cause and makes a great entertainer. He enjoys meeting new people and making friends.


Steven

His manners improve as time progresses. He is rather rude when first introduced, but develops better conduct later. Steven is known for his quick temper, however. This makes him a tough opponent.

Personality- Eddy, though he comes off as arrogant at first, is actually not. Instead, he is quite laid-back, rising to the challenge only when needed. He has no problem with sacrificing his time for someone else's, as he did once when Emily requested she take his turn. Eddy can tend to underestimate others, as he did with the Russian beyblading team, but he is devoted to his team and stands up for them whenever there is harmful talk directed at them.

Personality- To be honest, Emily can be rather snobby. She tends to believe she is right while others are wrong, and will never hesitate to point out faults in anyone. She does try to be humorous at times, but is not as skilled at it as someone like Tyson is. Once one gets to know Emily, she is not as stuck-up, though her assuming she is always right can be annoying. Apart from her bad traits, Emily is intelligent and works well with technology and science.


Judy

Background- Judy is Max's mother, though she does not live with him due to the fact that she and her husband are divorced. She formerly worked at a college, but now works in the American BBA Research Facility. She is head of research there and also coaches the American beyblade team.
Personality- Judy is a very likable person-- strict when she needs to be, but a caring mother and patient teacher and coach. She tends to become stressed by Michael's over-inflated ego and need to show off, and sometimes finds it difficult to control the young adults on the team she oversees, but generally she keeps a tight watch on them and is sure they follow through with the plan. Judy is a highly intelligent woman and a brilliant scientist who loves her career, but most of all loves her son, Max.

Background- Where does one begin with Robert's background? From his opinion, the information could fill many, many books, but to sum it all up, Robert is basically the owner of a very stately castle in Austria, and his family name dates back for centuries. He is descended from a long line of proud and powerful knights of medieval Europe, and his bit beast has been in his family for many generations. Who his parents are is uncertain.
Personality- Robert is proud and arrogant, and is not one to hide it. He often boasts of his high status and wealth. One thing he is notorious for is boring his friends and guests with lengthy stories of his family's history, but in actuality, Robert does this because he takes great pride in his history, and in history in general. His estate is well-kept and preserved despite its age, and he lives quite comfortably in the modern world though he tends to mentally live in the past at times. Contrary to his love of the past, he dislikes having to repeat anything. By default, Robert assumes he knows the proper way to do things and informs others when he feels they are in the wrong, but not because he chooses to be haughty. Robert believes it is his duty to educate others on the proper way to do things. Some would mistake Robert for being rude, but truthfully he is very well-mannered, and what appears as a harsh comment is actually an honest opinion. As a rule, Robert never fails to let someone know exactly what he is thinking, and he can be very blunt. This can seem quite tactless, but Robert is generally a good person. Background- Johnny, like Robert, is a descendent of royalty. He lives in Glasgow, Scotland and his family is mentioned as being the royal MacGregor clan of the Highlands. Also similar to Robert, his bit beast has been passed down through his family.
Personality- Johnny is nothing less than a typical Aries-- haughty, egotistical, and self-centered. His motto, if ever he were to have one, would consist of two words: "me first!" His attitude tends to annoy most people, and it's a wonder Robert puts up with him. Johnny is very competitive, but often becomes aggressive in a challenge. One thing always associated with Johnny is his relationship with Kai; they do not get along at all, thus proving Johnny loses more friends than he makes due to his huffy attitude. Underneath his tough outer shell, however, Johnny is a fun person who enjoys all sorts of games, including chess, tennis, golf, and of course beyblading. Once past his caustic sense of humor and his infantile arrogance, Johnny can be a great guy.

Background- Enrique, like the other members of his team, is from a rich and noble family dating back for many centuries. His mansion is in Rome, Italy and his Roman-Centurion heritage is never taken lightly. His bit beast has been passed down by his ancestors, and to accommodate it, Enrique had a large coliseum-like stadium built right in the middle of the Vatican. It can be assumed he has some ties with the Pope because of this.
Personality- So much can be said of Enrique. He's social, proud, egotistical, and at times a bit sneaky. He makes escaping from his mansion to avoid studying a show, unable to resist attaining the spotlight for himself, and he had the Bladebreakers convinced he was some common kid looking to beyblade with Enrique until his butler, Piddlesworth, came onto the scene and exposed him as the real Enrique, after which he made a large display of running off and sliding down the hill his property sits on to escape. Enrique is quite a boastful person as well, talking much about all the things he can afford to do. He enjoys showing off his wealth to the ladies and has no problem with having multiple girlfriends at one time. He is the typical self-confident, ladies' man Italian, and to top it all off he's a Leo, and all Leos need to be the center of attention, which is a position Enrique loves to be in especially in front of girls. To sum it all up, Enrique believes he is God's gift to women and is willing to prove it, but despite his love of himself, he is a very generous person and takes a lot of pride in what he does.

Background- Oliver, son of a French millionaire, lives in Paris. His family owns most of the city, including many fine restaurants. They are so rich, Oliver often likes to rent out the entire Louvre museum just to sit and contemplate the works of art in it.
Personality- Oliver is undeniably the gentlest of the Majestics. He is not quite as arrogant as the others, though he does have a great deal of confidence in himself. Like his zodiac sign, Pisces, he generally goes with the flow of life and is a very dreamy and passive person, but also quite naive. He is usually unaware of consequences of his actions. For example, he never realized his renting out the Louvre museum was upsetting to visitors until he was confronted about it. This does not make him stupid, however, he just tends to drift off into his own world and leave the material one behind. Oliver enjoys being a chef, one of his hobbies, and would go out of his way to prepare a multiple-course meal for anyone. In beyblading, however, Oliver can be quite demanding of his bit beast. He wields Unicolyon with power, but with grace and style at the same time.

Background- Sanguinex and the other members of his team were condemned for their sins, forever cursed by extreme hatred. Where any of them came from is unclear, but it is assumed they were, at one time, monks due to the clothing they wear. Sanguinex was defeated by the European champion Robert Jurgen.
Personality- Sanguinex is the most reasonable member of his team, if a team such as his can be listed as reasonable. Rather than lash out as his other teammates might, he uses sound judgment, and most generally he does not get angry. Sanguinex was at his worst when defeated by Robert, but such anger from him is uncommon. Although he is a vampire, a soul generally considered evil, he can sense goodness within people and has something of a lighter side himself.


Lupenex

Personality- Lupenex is very much like the one he was defeated by. He is hotheaded and usually acts without thinking. He has a short temper, but Sanguinex most often is able to curb any violent tendencies. Above all things, Lupenex despises Johnny and his attitude, but not without good reason. The rest of his team dislike Johnny as well, but it cannot go without being said that Lupenex has a habit of flying off the handle. He is quite good at beyblading, however, and could perhaps be even better than Sanguinex.

Personality- Cenotaph is the most fun of the Dark Bladers. He is the first to make an appearance and expresses his favorite hobby very early on, and, of course, he loves nothing more than surprising and scaring people. He really gets a kick out of tormenting Kenny, and out of all the Dark Bladers it can be said Cenotaph has the creepiest of laughs. His beyblading skills can be easily overpowered, which is why he relies on surprise, but despite this fact he seems to be the one who does a lot of the dirty work due to his intimidating appearance and demeanor. Cenotaph is smart and pulls most of his team's evil plans together.


Zomb

Personality- Not much can be said about Zomb. He follows the crowd, mostly, and never expresses his opinion often. Contrary to his size, he is not all that strong as a beyblader. He mostly provides extra support, helping out the rest of his team if needed. Although he tries his best to be as intimidating as the others, he seems to be somewhat the gentle giant of the monsters.

Personality- Tala is definately a standout in his team. Out of any of them, he has the most personality, and is never afraid to show it. Honestly, it's a wonder he has survived as long as he has, because he tends to be stand-offish. He does not have as much respect for the team coach and trainer Boris as his teammates do, and sometimes will even be so bold as to mouth off to him. It's obvious Tala is strong and that Boris tends to favor him, otherwise he would have been dead long ago. One thing Tala despises is not being in charge. When Kai rejoined the team, Tala was infuriated that Kai was the new favorite and treated as above his level. Tala enjoys receiving all the credit and attention and giving the orders, which is why he tends to snap at Boris when given a command. During the times he is willing to take orders, he is efficient and powerful, but never less than vibrant and bold in both personality and in what he wears.


Bryan

Background- There is no known information on any family member of Bryan's. All that is said of his past is that he was raised differently than the other boys in the abbey-- taught by scientists to block every emotion except hate. The scientists, however, are no longer working at the abbey, and it is believed that Bryan overpowered and killed them.
Personality- At first, Bryan appears to be calm, collected, and passive. He never speaks much, only when he has to, but deep inside he has an inflamed hatred which has been burning ever since he was young. Bryan is not one people would want to cross paths with. He comes off as indifferent, then strikes with quick and merciless blows that render opponents weak and defenseless, and most often kill them. He is very loyal to his superior, Boris, never questioning orders or thinking twice about them. He does as he is told, and he does it well. He's always first choice when the team needs to annihilate the opponent while terrifying spectators beyond rational thought. Although his attacks come quickly, they are painful and done in such a way that it prolongs death and suffering. To be brief on the matter, Bryan was raised to be a hateful, violent, and murderous being. One positive thing about Bryan? He isn't prejudice. He hates everyone equally.


Spencer

Personality- Spencer is a tall young man with a muscular build who looks as though he could (and would) crush your bones with one hand, but this is completely the opposite of what Spencer's true nature is. Although tough when he needs to be, Spencer is not outlandishly rash, as is Tala, and is not completely vicious and vile, as is Bryan. He merely does things simply because he is told to do so and is led to believe they are things which are good. Inside, Spencer is insecure and seeking to do what he can for others. A prime example of Spencer's true nature comes with his defeat of Kai. He promptly walks to Boris, his superior, and exclaims: "Sir, I won!" with a smile on his face. In this way, Spencer seems to be like a child looking to please a hopeful adult, and although Boris is unsatisfied with the performance, Spencer remains upbeat and hopeful that he will make an improvement. To combat any feelings of insecurity, Spencer has attached himself to people and ideas that bring comfort to him. Boris is one of things, mainly because he has been a large part of Spencer's life and upbringing. Had Spencer any family to speak of, he would have become strongly attached to them, and so on. He also tends to remain close to Bryan, as he is usually seen standing beside him, and although this may confuse some people because Bryan is most generally a violent person, it helps to explain Spencer's strong need to feel as though he belongs. In several ways it is both fortunate and unfortunate that he survived long enough to become part of the Russian team.

Personality- Ian is a cunning little mischief-maker who would enjoy nothing more than blowing someone apart. One phrase that comes to mind when describing Ian is "trigger-happy," and indeed he is. It is rare to see Ian without his rifle; he carries it everywhere with him despite the fact that it is nearly larger than he is. He does a lot of the dirty work, emerging first and taking opponents by surprise while the rest of his team comes in after and finishes things off. Being younger than the others, he tends to have more energy, but is quite skilled for his age. He most often combines forces with Tala, taking orders from him and carrying them out, and he is very obedient to the team coach and trainer Boris.

Background- Nothing is said on Boris' younger years, nor of how he came to work for Biovolt. All is known is that he has a partnership with Voltaire, head of Biovolt, and also has been listed internationally as a well-known Russian criminal mastermind. Besides being a part of Biovolt, Boris is also a scientist (interested in such fields as biology, chemistry, as well as the study of medicine, DNA and genetics), and is also an abbot (one who runs an abbey; similar to a priest), and he poses as such to cover up for his guilty acts. However, since not just any man can get into such a position, it can safely be assumed he holds a high rank in the church of his city, and unfortunately not all religious men live up to the name. Boris is a prime example of this. His job under Biovolt is to enlist boys at a very young age and vigorously train them in beyblading as well as in strength and endurance, forcing them to do outrageous and exceedingly rigorous tasks which kill most of them. Those that are strong enough to withstand the training survive and move on, and the four best were chosen to be a part of Russia's beyblading team, the Demolition Boys. Boris is the coach of the Demolition Boys and is in command of all activites dealing with training and research in the abbey. There are strong rumors he is a pedophile.
Personality- Boris Balkov is nothing short of a two-faced, cunning, and vile man with a lust for power and money. Despite the fact that he is an abbot running an abbey (a monestary or church), his acts are anything but religious and good-natured. Boris seems to be quite the opposite of the priest he poses as, mocking the crosses on the towers of the abbey with every vicious thing he does. He has little compassion for failure and will not think twice about disposing of any boy in the abbey who does not live up to his standards. He is strict not only with the children but with the employees as well-- the scientists in the laboratories and the gunmen who guard the property-- but he does, however, show small shreds of patience with the stronger and more reliable young men that he favors, such as Tala and Kai. Boris can also be described as something of a "control freak," as he has cameras located in every room and corridor of the abbey. The fact of this raises many questions about deeper parts of his person, but to keep this page clean they will not be discussed. Boris makes it a point to intimidate others. Through intimidation, he can exact power over those being intimidated, and this is most often how he wins in any situation he faces. Every young man at the abbey, as well as all the employees, respect Boris out of fear, all with good reason. He is indeed malicious in intent and lies a great deal, but he makes it work for him.
