TALLULA BLU
by Gaisha Anne Rysee
Tallula. A name everybody knows. Always celebrated in the Chic Freak
community, yet also known as a fierce musician and thought-provoking
writer. Tallula came to New York in 2001 to further her studies in
Classical Piano. If you know her well, you'll know where to find her
fingering away a waltz on Museum Mile.
Miss Blu got her "clubkid" start working at the party, "Zenwarp," at
Webster Hall. There she met and worked with the likes of Ehaab, Bridgette
Bad and Amber Ray. With her creative and often provocative looks, such as
"Taliban Chic," Tallula developed quite the reputation. Soon after, with
the arrival of Madam Gazelle onto the clubscene and with the opening of
the megaclub, Crobar, a somewhat lacking nightlife was revived. That's
when Tallula met Gaisha.
Tallula and Gaisha both found that they ignited a creative spark in each
other and have been clubbing companions ever since. The hot parties of the
time were Kenny Kenny's "Buckingham" at Plaid and Larry Tee's
"Disgraceland" at Crobar. There, Tallula and Gaisha met many new friends
such as Gazelle, Lui Antinous, Dres and one young, yet fiercely talented
artist who was just arriving onto the clubscene, Miranda Moondust.
Currently, Tallula is working on her column, "Mad House," for the third
issue of Gazelland Magazine.  A fixture on the scene, you can find her at Lui's and Dres' shows and at Miranda Moondust's endless list of parties.
