The dead of performance artist/doubtfully-human being G.G. Allin has yet to dissuade sycophants that his career should be laid to rest. Local guy Mark Robinson fans the G.G. flames with his record and video label, Vinyl Rententive. Robinson's 7-inch single of G.G. crooning two country tunes has sold out. He plans to press a limited edition 12-inch of seven Allin songs, and a 60-minute video of interviews and acoustic numbers.
"There are about three songs where G.G. doesn't swear," says Robinson incredulously.
Their relationship developed while Allin was incarcerated in Michigan on an assault charge. Through the mail, Robinson suggested G.G. get in touch with his sensitive, folksy side. Allin agreed (and confided that the arrest was an FBI set-up).
This month, Robinson will travel to Florida to work with goofball Tiny Tim on a new record. Also in the works are projects with Gaunt, New Bomb Turks and Charlotte, N.C., hillbillies from hell, Antiseen.
