MY
BAD LUCK
My Bad Luck (by A Kruger)
After 6 years of keeping Show budgie, I was finally able to bring in some imported birds. The deal was not done directly with the breeder but through a bird farm in Gauteng.  After weeks of waiting the birds were to arrive on the late afternoon flight. Very excited about the new arrivals, Samantha  rushed to collect my budgies, but no birds were awaiting for us.  Disappointed, we started phoning our contact about the waybill no etc.  With cages waiting I went to bed hoping they were ok.
The next day Samantha got a call from the airport wanting to know what he must do with the birds, which arrived late the previous night.

Well what can I say,  I was so disappointed when I saw the birds.  First there was no food or water in the cage, only half an apple.  The very next day one of the cocks died. Very upset we phoned Koos, who told us not to worry, but take the bird to the vet who would determine cause of death and whether a full refund was due or not.   Through inexperience and ignorance, we placed the bird in the deep freezer over night and apparently this damages the tissue and renders an autopsy useless.  4 months down the line and several visits to the Vet, we have no birds left and no reason for cause of death.
