Law enforcement and corrections personnel often find selecting and using video surveillance systems a challenge, given the number of choices, sales pressures, and budget constraints. This publication is designed to assist law enforcement and procurement officials choose video equipment that will satisfy their needs. Topics include video cameras, self-contained camcorders, video recorders/players, video display systems, and special purpose video equipment. Appendices offer detailed experimental methods and results that are summarized in the text.
