lets go into the fab (fab a place where chips are made in clean rooms)

here are the things we do before entering the clean room. one word the bunny suits DONT look like the BUNNY suits in the INTEL commericals which look like something someone from outer space would wear. the bunny suits look like medical wear and they cover your body from head to toe.

• in dirty world put bonnet over hair, and small bonnet for facial hair
• enter a locked air shower where all the dirt is blown off you for about 30 seconds
• now you enter the dressing room. but were not in the clean room yet
• put on small mask that covers nose and mouth
• put 2nd large mask that covers most of face
• put on hood that covers head
• put on a top jacket that hood flows into
• put on pants which top jacket flows into
• put on boots which the pants flow into. the boots go over your regular shoes
  
• at this point any dirt that falls off your body or clothes will end up in your boots as its final resting point. not the clean room.
• any air you breath through your nose or mouth goes into a mask.
• now you have to wash your hands to remove any dirt
• now you put your rubber gloves on.
• last if you have any things from the outside world that have to go into the clean room you rub them down with deionized water. for me this is my lap top computer.
• now one final trip thru two sets of doors and your in the clean room

useless information about chips - 486, pentium, and 686 clones

• 200 486 chips fit on a 8 inch wafer
• 25 wafers fit into a cassette, which are used in fabs to more the wafers around
• 5000 486 chips are contained on those 25 wafers in the cassette
• 486 chips are about as big as a finger nail almost 1/2 inch on each side
• 586 chips or pentium chips are about 3/4 inches on each side
• 686 chips chips are about 1 inche on each side

useless info on pentium's

it takes about a month of time to produce a pentium chip from scratch. each wafer is processed 100's of times in the equipment used to put chemicals on the wafer, and the equipment to removed chemicals from the wafer.

thru the life cycle of say a pentium chip or any other chip the area that is required to make chip generally gets smaller and smaller over time. that is because to maximize profits the fab trys to produce as many chips on a wafer as it can. and reducing the size of the chip allows more chips to be produced on a wafer.

hydrofloric acid BAD stuff

hydrofloric acid is really nasty stuff

it looks like water.
it smells like water.
it doesnt burn very much.

but if you get it on your skin it will seep thru to your bones where it will attack the calcium in the bones and it will cause you much pain and damage.

for any chemical that spills on you wash it off with cold water for 15 minutes.

cover your skin and areas of your body that were exposed to the hydrofloric acid with calcium glucimate jell which will allow the hydrofloric acid to attack the calcium in the jell instead of the calcium in your bones.
