Models deserve respect

To the editor,

The fact that three UA women were selected to appear in the latest issue of Playboy should draw respect for them, not pity. They have shown that they are comfortable with who they are and have the willpower to expose intimate details about themselves.

Also, they have not done a disservice to women by posing nude and they have not encouraged disrespect and abuse. Nudity is fairly common in other parts of the world, especially at some beaches. Do we not respect people from a culture that allows nudity? No, we respect them for their ideals and leave it at that. Do we go beat them up because they walk around naked? No, that would be wrong and immoral.

Nudity is not a bad thing and you may not like it. That's fine and dandy. However, do not criticize these women for having self-respect and self-confidence.
