Real-Time Traffic Reports:
Now you can know about taffic incidents such as
accidents, road construction and poor conditions before
they're reported on the radio or TV. It's easy to access
this information--just select a city and you'll receive a
map displaying all traffic incidents, plus text providing
more details like the exact location of the problem and
the expected delay.
Real-time traffic is available for 28 metropolitan areas
and will soon be expanded to include 47 others. Cities
covered at launch are: Atlanta, Baltimore, Boston,
Chicago, Cincinnati, Columbus, Dallas-Fort Worth, Denver,
Detroit, Houston, Indianapolis, Kansas City, Las Vegas,

Over the Phone?
MapQuest has established partnerships with Nokia, OnStar,
and SpeechWorks. The SpeechWorks relationship will allow
MapQuest to develop the first speech recognition
application for accessing driving directions over the
phone. Based on SpeechWorks' technology, MapQuest.com
will be able to offer access to its web-based travel
information via the phone regardless of the type of phone
or service being used.
