scottsdale police officer disciplined

A Scottsdale police sergeant has been disciplined for an incident with his girlfriend but will not face criminal charges, according to an internal affairs report released Monday.

Police said city code prevented them from elaborating on the discipline, other than to say bike patrol Sgt. James Butera received either a written or oral reprimand or a letter of counseling for unprofessional conduct. He was cleared of an assault accusation.

The Tempe Prosecutor's Office, which reviewed the case for the Scottsdale prosecutor, determined there was not enough evidence to warrant criminal charges.

According to the report, Butera, 40, an eight-year veteran, was off duty when he and his girlfriend got into an argument July 27 after drinking at a Scottsdale restaurant.

The woman, a Scottsdale Victims Assistance Program worker, claimed Butera pushed her to the ground, then almost hit her with his pickup as he drove off. She later told police she didn't want to prosecute. Butera said she fell as he tried to move her out of his way.

the webmaster notes: isnt it interesting that when pigs committ crimes they are never arrested, jailed, and tried for the crimes like us civilians are.

if i got drunk, beat my wife, then tried to run over my wife with my pick up truck the scottsdale pigs would have me jailed for drunken driving, assult and attempted murder.

but this scottsdale pig commits the same crimes and he doesnt get charged with any crimes. instead he gets either an oral or written reprimand. and the scottsdale pigs wont tell us which one he got.
