Parallel and Series Circuits |
Parallel Circuits* In a parallel curcuit, electricaly devices, such as incandescent lamps or the cells of a battery, are arranged to follow all positve poles, electrodes, and terminals to be joined to one conductor, and all negative ones to another conductor, so that each unit is, in effect, on a parallel branch. A circuit conects electrical components in a colsed path or loop. It includes a source of power, one or more on and off switches, interconnecting wires and an electrical appliance such as a bell or light bulb. Series Curcuits* A series curcuit is one in which the devices or elements of the curcuit are arranged in such a way that the entire curcuit passes through each element without division or branching into parallel curcuits. |
