New mirrors were necessary, to replace the Dumbo ears, and the tail was cleaned up with Z28 exhaust tips.
Since I needed a new project, I found this. It's an '01, identical to the ZR2, except for the obvious drivetrain & height. They're 11" different in front, and 8" in the rear. The Cat seems to be lowered 3" rear, and 3" or 4" in the front. The previous owner did that, as well as the molded rear pan (steel), tonneau, air dam, clear markers, carbon fiber tails, ram air hood, blah blah blah.
Stuff I had to do after buying it: remount and re-wire the CD player and all speakers (put in a sub, too), cleaned up the MESS of alarm and CB wiring that was there, get the dash lights working, remove window tint. I'd never seen anything darker. It looked so cool, but the cops didn't seem to approve. They also "recommended" that I install my front license plate. Hmmm...
The factory split bench was not going to cut it, as Tanya was tired of the seat moving everytime I touched the pedals. Enter 8-way powered leather seats from a Bravada. I also got a center console. Did you know how much plastic and leather squeak against each other? Someone shoulda told me...
Oh yeah - always run your fuses BEFORE putting eveything back together, or you'll get practiced in removal & reinstallation of your components...not that I would know...
I put on Edelbrock's IAS shocks, Hellwig sway bars front & rear, and the infamous black wheels (stolen from the white truck).
There's now a Bedrug to cover up the Rhino-liner.
