Eurypterids
Eurypterids were members of the arthropod classification. They are also called giant water scorpions. Their tail, or telson, was either rounded or long and spine-shaped. A Silurian member of this class grew to over 6 feet long! Eurypterids lived threw the Ordovician to the Permian ages. The images below are Pennsylvanian in age and are from the Hamilton Quarry exhibit at the Emporia State University Geology Museum.
