Hill Stream Loach, Butterfly Loach, or I've even seen them called Stingray Plecos, live in fast moving streams where the water is cool and saturated with oxygen. A tank with many hiding places, smooth rocks and current are a must.

In groups Hillstream loaches will defend, from others of their species, their favorite spot by flashing their Dorsal fin at one another and trying to push one another away from their area.

Will accept almost anything. They eat algae that they scrape off the rocks. Algae wafers and Sinking pellet foods seem to be especially enjoyed.
