INTRODUCTION

Allow me to share with you a voyage of spiritual discovery through
the medium of poetry.

This journey, which was preceded by a long period of disenchantment
and meaninglessness, commenced abruptly with a terrible tragedy then
moved slowly away from that hell-hole of darkness into a place of
Light.

It is a beautiful journey, often lonely, often painful, but the
rewards in a non- material sense are worthwhile and abundant.

The poems that describe the journey, one may say are inspirational.
To define inspiration in sense terms is difficult, but my explanation
would be, that when ideas, thoughts and feelings you receive do not really
seem to belong to you rather they seem to come to you or through you from
a sacred place beyond your consciousness - this type of experience
I would call inspirational.
In that sense one wonders whether one is actually the author or merely
the scribe. My opinion would favour the latter.

The poems all follow one another as either prayers, meditations,
revelations or journeys of discovery.

My earnest wish is that these inspirational poems may act as a
stimulus for others to commence their own search for the Truth, their
own voyage of discovery. Any process of spiritual enlightenment is
termed an initiation, which may take lifetimes to complete -
this then is the reason for the title
