Who Framed Roger Rabbit was just asking for a dark ride and this attraction delivers. The ride itself is great but the queue is even better.

free association

. . . Great, atmospheric queue for the ride. It's too bad, though, that the scenes are often beat up by destructive guests. . .
. . . The atmosphere inside the queue feels like being in film noir. The darkness and the dirtiness of the scenes make you feel like you're in a 40's detective movie. . .
. . . Does anybody remember that when the ride first opened, the dip making machine actually spewed real smoke? The acrid smoke smelled really bad and was almost suffocating when you walked by. The odor spread throughout the ride. I have a feeling they stopped that effect because people were complaining about it. . .
. . . The two effects I really like within the ride itself are the scene where it feels like you're falling into the city and when Roger uses the "portable hole" to help you escape. . .

pointless trivia

  • This ride has much of the characteristics of the classic Fantasyland dark rides but is different in that its vehicles have the ability to spin like the Mad Tea Cups.
  • It contains 16 Audio-Animatronic figures, 59 animated props, and 20 special effects. (Disney News, Summer 1993)
  • During the creation of the ride, a tea cup was put on Pinocchio's Daring Journey and The Haunted Mansion to see how it would work. (Ibid)
  • Lenny the Cab, (your vehicle), begins to spin because he is hit by "dip" purposely spilled by the evil Weasels.
