A very Happy Republic Day to all Endeavourites.
The past week saw tons of activity in connexion with the Annual Day celebrations. Among other events the following were some of the hotly contested ones.
A theme based (besan) Cooking Competition was conducted.
Thanks to Sanskrit Paati(C/24) and Leela Mami (A/26) for the Mythological Quiz

The Endeavour Sports Club appreciates the enthusiasm of the kids who were hyper-enthusiastic to have more and more events arranged for them. A very strong word of appreciation also for those very few seniors/parents who make it a point to come down to the ground in the nights to watch if not participate.
The "2004 Annual Day" celebrations started with a Film Quiz for juniors. More events are slated in the forthcoming days to keep Endeavourites entertained. Contact Aditya/Subhash in this connexion for details.

With 2004 having arrived, the Annual Day is just 26 days away. The first announcement made in the New Year on Endeavour grounds after the mandatory "Happy New Year" by Kannan was that "this year too, we plan to conduct the annual day function with sports and events like every year, in a manner befitting the Endeavour tradition." So folks, get ready with those carrom strikers, shuttles and racquets, prepare yourselves to spend a few hours in the night under the halogen lamps for the next month, and don't forget to brush up your What's-the-Good-Word, Quiz and Antakshari skills.
BTW, The one change in this year's New Year celebrations was Raj Mahal Batata Wada replacing Samosa.
Wish all of you A Very Happy New Year. May the new year bring you untold success and prosperity. The New Year celebrations in Endeavour were held with the usual aplomb and the customary cake, masala milk, chips etc.
With 2003 coming to an end, Endeavour is set to celebrate the arrival of 2004 on the night of Wednesday, Dec 31, 2003. A new look star is ready to welcome all those who enter the premises.

The 3-day Ayyappa Pooja came to an end yesterday. The highlight this year was the dedication of a brand new huge metal multi-layered Valakku to the memory of the late Thangam mami. Fitting the occasion, it was lighted just before the Laksharchana. In the evening, this Valakku replaced the customary Vaazhai structure which used to adorn the gate-end of the Deepam series.
In a lighter vein:
There is a thinking that next year, a temporary protective fence be placed around the Thayambaka artists in the evening, to prevent some of the frenzied enthusiasts from jumping on top of the drum.
We reported on Oct 20, 2003 that Shankar and Roopa had a baby girl. HERE is Aishwarya with her elder brother or vice-versa.
Dec 13, 2003 - General
The drive for Moorthy's cause was a success. We'd like to thank all those who contributed for this worthy cause. The plan is to invest the money in some sort of a monthly income scheme which will be safe and will provide Moorthy with a reasonable supplement to alleviate some of his financial burden. Once again a very grateful thanks and appreciation to all who contributed.

Nov 14, 2003 - Obituary
It is unfortunate that within a couple of months of reporting that Moorthy, our watchman completed 25 years of faithful service, he lost his only son in a road accident. The boy and his friend were apparently on a two wheeler that got hit by a truck and both the lads died. Endeavour Society is collectively trying to raise funds to help support Moorthy in a small way. Please click HERE for a note that conveys the spirit of the effort undertaken. An appeal is being made specifically to all the non-resident Endeavourites to contribute in a meaningful way as this is an opportunity to help first hand another human being in need and that too somebody that we have all had some association with in the past.

Search for another company that provides it free. But till we successfully find another company and the links are updated etc. the GuestBook will be out of order.
