I'm reading the story called "Five have yet another mystery to solve"
and I have to say--ITS HILARIOUS!!
I used to love reading enid blyton stories especially the adventure series. Even now, I still like the adventure series and was delighted to find the ruin of adventure-the only adventure series fanfic. The only real problem I had in the story is regarding Philip being caught in the roof collapse. I understand that he comes out ok, because he's got to save the others, but you mention that he's got a deep cut on his cheek and that he hurt his ankle. Surely Bill must have seen this cut and mentioned it and maybe put a bandage on it or at least seen to it a bit. Also, Philip's ankle seems to have miraculously got better and didn't hamper him a bit. And wouldn't Philip's mum have said something about Philip looking more of a mess than the others?
Guys what can i say? That was absolutely incredible! The plot was so good I was actually leaning forward in excitement at the cliffhangers. It could so easily have been one of the Adventure books. I can't tell you how impressed I was reading it - I kept thinking to myself constantly that it could have actually been written by Blyton, it was that authentic!
Today, quite by accident, I found your site and was amazed and inspired. Though my free time is limited (non existent) I am looking forward to sitting down this weekend and reading through it all properly. How did I not think of this before?! Thank you for taking the time to share your ideas and love of stories with the rest of us.
Good evening! I found your website while googling "Fusty Musty and
Dusty".... Words I remember from the pet parrot of the children who were in one of
the earliest adventure books I read in third grade (in Oregon) sometime
in the 50s. I've wanted to find those books and couldn't remember
titles.
Hi Jenny and Laura! Just a note to say your site is brilliant! The stories are very well written and can almost be mistaken for Enid Blyton's. Keep up the excellent work.
Exactly like a real Famous Five story!!
I've been laughing so hard all the way through!!:D

Despite this, I still loved the story.

I grew up reading the Blyton books, particularly loving the Famous 5 and the Adventure series, and now I'm an adult it takes quite a lot to keep my attention when I'm reading. You succeeded admirably and I was so pleased to have read such a well-rounded, descriptive and believable fic without such great dialogue.
CONGRATULATIONS!!
Nat (who just happened to stumble upon the site this evening) ;-)

So....good heavens....is it Enid Blyton?????
