There are currently four Highlander movies: Highlander: The Motion Picture, Highlander: The Quickening, and Highlander: The Final Dimension, and Highlander: Endgame.  Also, there are two different series: Highlander: The Series & Highlander: The Raven.  My favorite movie was Highlander: The Final Dimension and the worst Highlander movie was Highlander: The Quickening.

The basic story as is follows: Since the dawn of time immortals have existed.  They are regular people, however, they live forever.  As the times change, their lives change as well.  They can be a pirate in the 1870's and a stock broker in the 1990's. They can only be killed when their heads are removed from their body.  The only safe for them would be Holy Ground, such as a church, temple, or even a graveyard. When the few of the immortals exist, they will be drawn to a far away land to battle to the finish.  This event is known as "The Gathering."  When there is only one left, that Immortal will lose their immortality and become mortal.
 
 
 
 

Connor MacLeod The Highlander in all three movies.  He was a guest star in the very first episode of Highlander: The Series.  In the first movie, he defeated a man known as Kurgan.  In the second movie he defeated Corda.  And in the third movie he defeated Kane. He was born in the 1600's into a Scottish Clan known as the MacLeod's that lived in the Highlands.  When he was stabbed in battle, he was supposed to die, however, he did not.  When he went back to his clan, the members thought he was devil (because he was supposed to be dead) and exiled him from the town.  After that that's where the adventure begins...

Juan Sanchez Villa-Lobos Ramirez When Connor MacLeod learned that he was immortal in the 1600's, Ramirez became his teacher.  He told MacLeod about the Gathering and the importance of Holy Ground.  He taught MacLeod how to use a sword and overtime they became friends.

On the TV show, Methos and Duncan MacLeod are my favorite characters. The episodes I liked, of all I've seen, was: "Comes A Horseman" & "Revelation 6:8."  In the show there is a new twist which involves the secret society of the Watchers.  The Watchers are an underground society that watches the immortals.  Each Watcher has been assigned to observe an Immortal.  They just record all the events that happened to each immortal while not interfering with the Immortals' lives.
 
 

Duncan MacLeod The Highlander in the TV series. I believe it ran for 5 seasons. He comes from the same clan as Connor, but Connor is one of Duncan's ancestors.  To many events happened in the series so I will not put them all here.  However, he teams with his Watcher, Joe Dawson, and through out the first 4 seasons, he also fights along side with a young immortal boy, Richie Ryan, to take on the forces of evil.

Methos This guy is one of the coolest characters on the show. Also disguised as a Watcher, by the name of Adam Pearson, he appears on the show from time to time and helps MacLeod defeat other evil immortals.  Methos is the first born immortal, around 10,000 years old. The immortal that Adam watches is Methos; he watches himself (He writes his own diary).

Highlander: The Series ended with 6 seasons.  After Highlander: The Series ended, a new television series started called Highlander: The Raven.  The series only ran for one season.

Amanda Darieux This was Duncan MacLeod's immortal lover from time to time.  She had made various guest appearances on Highlander: The Series and now she is the main character of Highlander: The Raven.  She teams up with a mortal cop, Nick Wolfe, to battle evil.

Nick Wolfe This is Nick Wolfe.  This is the cop that met Amanda while tracking a jewel thief.  Now he works with Amanda to take on evil immortals.

In the year 2000, Highlander: Endgame was released.  It was about an evil immortal, Jacob Kell, who wanted to kill Connor MacLeod, for killing his father.  Jacob took his revenge by destroying every person important in Connor's life, including Duncan MacLeod. This movie was to pass on the sword from Connor to Duncan, so that he will continue the Highlander movie Saga. Every fan of Highlander knew that this time would have to come but....
