Ensemble Of Folk Dances And Songs "SKOPJE"

We started this year with 14 new members - all of them - dancers.
They are welcome and we hope that they are going to be with us a long time.

At the beginning of this year we started preparing TWO New Choreographies!
For a very short time now we should have them on our repertoire.

The names of the choreographies are:

         - "Igri od Jugozapadna Makedonia" (Dances from South-West Macedonia)
          - "Romski pesni i igri" (Gypsy songs and dances)

FEBRUARY 8, 2002 PREPARING NEW CHOREOGRAPHIES

Like every year before Ensemble “SKOPJE” is going to make Anniversary CONCERT.
This year Ensemble "SKOPJE" is celebrating 6-th Anniversary.
Members of Ensemble were practicing and preparing the Anniversary program for 3 months.

      - Special Scenario Program was prepared!!
      - Like it's usually there are going to be another few news surprises
      - Most Famous Macedonian Folk singers will be special performing guests:
                        Goce Arnaudov
                        Mile Kuzmanovski
                        Tatjana Lazarevska
                        Blaga Petrevska
      - All Night Concert
      - Unusual Folk Dance SPECTACLE !!

NOVEMBER 15, 2001 6-th Anniversary CONCERT

Ensemble “SKOPJE” was invited in NIS and Aleksinac-Yugoslavia.
On the Liberation celebration days, youngest members of Ensemble were presenting Macedonian folk dances and songs.
There were three concerts in NIS, ALEKSINAC and BOLAN lake area.

Following ensembles have taken part:

“Stanko Paunovic” from NIS
“ Jezero” from BOLAN
“Greac” from GREAC
“Katuni” from KATUN
“Sartid” from ALEKSINAC

During the concerts, the choreographies were performed with very loud aplauses!!!
Spectators were even kissing the members of Ensemble on the scene!!!

Youngest members of Ensemble “SKOPJE” received invitations for future performings all over Yugoslavia.

OCTOBER 12-15, 2001 NIS and ALEKSINAC, Yugoslavia

Ensemble "SKOPJE" is going to make All Night Concert at "Universalna Sala" in Skopje.
Guests on the concert will be Enemble "Koco Racin", AKUD "Mirce Acev"
and Ensemble "Grigor Prlicev". They will present some of their choreographies.

Also guests on the concert will be some popular Macedonian Folk Singers.

OCTOBER 1, 2001 ALL NIGHT CONCERT

This Summer Ensemble "SKOPJE" is going to make a Summer Tour in TURKEY.

Our Ensemble was invited to visit Izmir, Ozdere and Kushadasi, all popular tourist places on west Turkey Coast.
Ensemble "SKOPJE" will promote new choreographies and also it's standard folk program with Macedonian Folk Dances and Songs.
A lot of Foreign Tourists will have chance to enjoy their holidays and in same time to watch Macedonian Folk.

AUGUST 1-8, 2001 SUMMER TOUR TURKEY-Izmir

XXII International Student Folk Festival in Skopje starts on July 4.
Folk ensembles from Turky, Yougoslavia, Nigeria and Macedonia will take part.
This Festival is organised by AKUD Folk Ensemble "Mirce Acev" from Skopje.

Ensemble Of Folk Dances And Songs "SKOPJE" has the Honnor given by Macedonian Folk Groups to OPEN the festival with traditional Macedonian Dinner and Folk Music.

JULY 4, 2001 INTERNATIONAL STUDENT FOLK FESTIVAL "MIRCE ACEV" - Skopje

This concert is preparing with the youngest dancer's groups at the Ensemble "SKOPJE". The concert is imagined to show the spectators the final achievement that our youngest members has achieved at the end of the school year.
Most interesting part of the concert is the dance which are going to perform the members of the Ensemble from the primary school "Johan Heinrich Prestaloci".
They are doing their first dancing steps during this two last months.
We hope that the spectators are going to be contend.
Like it's usually there are going to be another few news (surprises).
Come and see us, you won't be sorry...

As you can see we are going to perform all night concert in a very short time interval because of a very big interesting of the folk spectators from our capitol Skopje.
We are expecting successful performing and good entertainment.
The programme for the concert will presence few new surprises for the spectators which will be our secret until the concert will be held.

We are Enriching our repertoire
The main activity we have started with for the beginning of the year is practicing two new choreography: "SEDENKA" and "OSOGOVKA". They'll be promoted on the concert.
The practicing is going very well with all of the dancers of the first group of the Ensemble. We have to thank Mr. Gile Vasilev, the choreographer who was created these two choreographies, because of the high level of the cooperation and advices he has gave us about the quality of our performing the games.

JUNE 19, 2001 ALL NIGHT CONCERT on the OPEN SCENE at SKOPJE-CITY PARK

Spring is coming!!!
For that occasion junior dancer members from six elementary schools from Skopje:
    “Presta”
    “Kuzman Josifovski-Pitu”
    “Dane Krapcev”
    “Koco Racin” (Petrovec) and
    “Grigor Prlicev (Zelezara)

will make concert at ARM concert scene in Skopje, together with Second and First dancing group
from Ensemble "Skopje".
Our choreographers were working with all of them for several months now.

Second group from Ensemble “Skopje” will perform with choreography “Romski pesni i igri" (Gypsy Songs and Dances) for the very first time.

Concert will begin at 12:00 hour, under name "Children for the Spring".

MARCH 16, 2002 "CHILDREN FOR THE SPRING"-Concert

Esemble Of Folk Dances And Songs "SKOPJE" and Skopje City FUNFAIR are organising concert in honor of the Resurrection.
Easter day is very popular in Macedonia. Painted eggs in RED color are usual.
For that occasion Folk parade was organized. Starting from famous fountain in city park, children performers were playing, singing and dancing to the open cinema located in city FUNFARE.

Starting from 12:00 a 2-hour programm was organized.                                                                                 SEE PICTURES

City FUNFAIR was organizing competition for best painted and decorated with patriotic elements Easter egg .
Rewards were free monthly, weekly and daily tickets for City Funfare.

MAY 5, 2002 CHILDREN IN HONOR OF THE RESURRECTION (EASTER CONCERT)

Youngest members of Ensemble "SKOPJE" are invited to join
Children Folk Festival in Zibol, Romania.

During next five days our members will have a chance to show their knowledge!
Members had intensive practicing for this purpose.
They will have a chance to present Macedonia and Macedonian Folk.

MAY 8-13, 2002 CHILDREN FOLK FESTIVAL - Romania

According to it's own activity program for year 2002,
Ensemble of Folk Dances and Songs "Skopje" will take part at International folk festival STRAZNICE in Straznice, Czech Republic.
This is one of the biggest and oldest folk festivals in Europe dating since 1946.
This festival is the only one in Czech Republic under organization by CIOFF.
Folk Ensembles and musicians from all over the world will take part.
Members of the first group of Ensemble "Skopje" will present Macedonian folk dances and songs at this festival.

JUNE 24 - JULY 1, 2002 INTERNATIONAL FOLK FESTIVAL STRAZNICE - Czech Republic

Ensemble of folk dances and songs "Skopje" will take part at
folk festival Folklórne Slávnosti in Myjava, (Slovakia).
This festival is one of most famous in Romania and under organization of CIOFF.
Members of the first group of Ensemble "Skopje" will have a chance to present Macedonian Folk Dances and Macedonian Songs in front of Romanian audience.

After that the very same group will take part at Interntional Folk Festival in Czech Republic

JUNE 19-24, 2002 Folk Festival "Folklórne Slávnosti" in Myjava - Slovakia

Youngest members of Ensemble "Skopje" will take a part at
Folk Festival "Chakovski Vez" in Karlovac, Croatia. It is a Kid Folk Festival.

Ten Folk Ensembles from Croatia, One from Slovakia and Two from Macedonia will take part in the festival.

July 5-8, 2002 FOLK FESTIVAL "Chakovski Vez" - Croatia

This summer our youngest members are invited to visit their friends from
Folk Ensemble "Paja Zaric" - Yougoslavia.

Youngest members of Folk Ensemble "Paja Zaric" will be their hosts.
Several concert are planed including all night program.

July 8-10, 2002 INVITATION IN YOUGOSLAVIA

According to our Festival and activity program for 2002, our youngest members will
take part in Folk Festival in town CLUJ-NAPOKA in Romania.

August 13-19, 2002 FOLK FESTIVAL IN ROMANIA

According to our Festival and activity program for 2002, first ensemble of
Ensemble Of Folk Dances And Songs "SKOPJE" will take part at
International Folk Festival The Golden Peacock in Dah, France.

On the way back our Ensemble will stay two days in Slavonski Brod, Croatia.

August 14-20, 2002 INTERNATIONAL FOLK FESTIVAL "THE GOLDEN PEACOCK"- France

On the way back from France members of our Ensemble will visit Slavonski Brod, Croatia.
Two all night concert are planed.
After that our Ensemble will send an offitial invitation to Folk Ensembles from this town
to kake part at this year International Folk Festival for Kids Oro Bez Granici in Skopje, Macedonia.
