Judge Cristina Perez was the first female judge to host a nationally syndicated Spanish network series. She presided over LA CORTE DE FAMILIA (Family Court) for several years on Telemundo. Now, she's speaking English on American television for the syndicated CRISTINA'S COURT. The show spiced things up for its second season when it returned in September 2007. The cases are more outrageous and there have been many celebrities on the show. CRISTINA'S COURT is in its third season. The show won a Daytime Emmy for "Outstanding Legal/Courtroom Program" in 2008. |

SEASON THREE: 2008-2009 11-10 and 11-11-2008 "BAD NIGHT IN WOOD FOREST" In 2005, a group of teenagers went on a vanalism spree in a neighborhood in Texas. They broke car windows and threw fireworks at a dog. They video taped all of it. The group of thugs then turned their anger on a black man named Lloyd Sams, who was minding his own business. They threw golf balls at him and called him the N-word. The group of teens were convicted and served time in prison. For the first time, Lloyd confronted two of his tormentors on Cristina's Court. DAY ONE: Judge Perez showed the home video of the vandalism spree to the court. Then, Lloyd told his story. He claimed that the defendants, Josh and Kyle, chased after him, even hitting him with a car. Lloyd said his leg still hurts to this day because of the incident. The defendants denied hitting Lloyd with the car. DAY TWO: Lloyd told of a second incident that happened days later. He said his sister witnessed a strange car pulling into their driveway. Lloyd ran outside only to discover it was his tormentors. Lloyd grabbed a camera and chased after them. Josh said he didn't recognize Lloyd from the first incident, so he called 20 of his friends to back him up. Lloyd said the mob started chasing after him again, but this time he was able to escape...The boys only served six months in prison for the incident. They're now on probation. Lloyd told them that they weren't locked up for longer because he plead on their behalf. Lloyd told the boys he was there because he wanted to make amends with the boys. He then shook both of their hands and hugged them. 11-3-2008 "THE JANICE DICKINSON DISPUTE" Brian Kehoe, 22, brought supermodel Janice Dickinson to court, claiming she defamed him on her cable show by calling him an alcoholic. Dickinson talked about her hard life, saying she was an alcoholic for years and was in rehab twice. The show showed clips from the reality show, we here Dickinson was seen yelling at Brian for being drunk before a gig. Dickinson told judge Cristina that her clients would complain about him smelling of alcohol and having black circles under his eyes. Things got heated when Brian accused Dickinson of "not being off the booze." Dickinson fired back, "Now, you're just being an asshole!" Brian lost his case because he couldn't prove actual malice and that he lost work because of Dickinson's allegations. 10-31-2008 "IMPERSONATING A WEB DESIGNER" Natalina is a Paris Hilton impersonator who always on television. She relied on the defendant, Joshua, to build her a hot new website. But Natalie says, the site fell short of her expectations, so she brought him to court for a refund. Joshua told the judge that he did the best he could and carried out everything that he promised. Judge Cristina logged on to check out the site. She agreed that it was up to par, but said some of the pictures of the fake Paris could have been better. Judge Cristina ruled in favor of Natalie, but only granted her half of the money she wanted. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- SEASON TWO: 2007-2008 11-19-2007 "CHYNA'S CHIHUAHUA" Former wrestler Joanie "Chyna" Lauer bought two teacup chihuahuas from the defendant, Catherine. Chyna says she paid Catherine $3,500 for the dogs but never got them. Catherine claimed she gave the money to a breeder, but the breeder never gave her the puppies. Judge Cristina ruled in favor of Chyna and told Catherine that she should change her business practices. 11-15 and 11-16-2007 "THE NAKED COWBOY DISPUTE" If you've ever been to New York City, than you've probably seen the Naked Cowboy. He sings in the middle of the streets wearing only underwear, boots and a cowboy hat. The Naked Cowboy enterted the court singing and without a shirt. Judge Cristina told him to respect the court and cover himself up, which he did. The Naked Cowboy brought his girlfriend, Cindy, to court saying she wasn't accepting his new business venture. He recently launched a website where live webcams show what he's up to 24 hours a day. He said he wanted the cameras everywhere, even in the bedroom, but Cindy wasn't going for that. Judge Cristina found in favor of both of them. She said Cindy was right for wanting boundaries and the Naked ?Cowboy was right for expressing himself. Judge Cristina also allowed the Naked Cowboy to take off his jacket and perform a song for the court. 11-14-2007 "IT'S HARD OUT THERE FOR A PIMP" Darryel says he's an "old school player" who's spent his life out on the streets. He's been a pimp and a crook and served time for all his wrongs. Now, his daughter, Darrylynn, was suing him because he never paid her after she allowed him to stay with her. Darryel said he's made thousands of dollars a day for years, so he didn't think he'd have problems paying the rent. When Darryel couldn't come up with the money, he and his daughter were evicted. Darryel admitted he never paid Darrylynn the money, so Judge Cristina ruled in her favor. 11-12-2007 "I AM THE REAL TINA TURNER" Larry and Wendell have been female impersonators for decades. But their friendship soured when they were both cast in "Miss Congeniality Two" as Tina Turner impersonators. After the movie, Wendall used sent out pictures of them with Sandra Bullock to score gigs. Larry thought it wasn't fair that Wendall was cashing in on his image. After presenting their case dressed as men, Larry and Wendell both got dressed as Tina and performed for the court. The performance made Larry realize that his long friendship with Wendell was more important than the lawsuit. He gave Wendell a picture of them dressed as Tina and thanked for Judge Cristina for allowing them to become friends again on her show. 10-31 AND 11-1-2007 "COMING TO AMERICA" Mary escaped a living hell in Iran so she could build a better life for herself and her two daughters. Mary told the judge that she was forced to marry a man at 17 years old. That man went on to physically abuse her and her daughters. Since women have no rights in Iran, she was forced to put up with the abuse for years. Mary went on to get her master's degree and was finally able to escape her abusive husband. She then brought her girls to the United States to start over. Mary says her 22-year-old daughter, Cameron, has taken her new found freedom too far. She gave Cameron $4,000 for college but blew the money on a trip to Las Vegas. Cameron said had the right to spend it on whatever she wanted. The judge told Cameron that she would regret spending her mother's savings one day. The judge ruled in favor of Mary, telling Cameron to pay her back the $4,000. 9-11-2007 "SEX LIST: 126 AND COUNTING" Sheri and Eric are ex-lovers and the parents of twins. Sheri brought Eric to court over money he owed for a scooter. Eric said he didn't owe her any money because she still owed him for a computer. Sheri also said she got sick of Eric's womanizing ways. Eric admitted in court that he's kept a list of the women he's slept with. He said he's up to 126 women and even brought his current girfriend who he thought was number 121 or 122. Eric told Judge Cristina that if he had his way, he would take in and love every single woman in the world. Eric also told that judge that she reminded him of one of his exes. Judge Cristina saw through all of his talk and ruled in favor of Sheri. 9-10-2007 SEASON PREMIERE -- "ENTERTAINER DIDN'T SHOW" Jade Sinclair, who was the Adult Entertainer of the Year in 2006, said fellow adult entertainer Angelica Wild didn't show up for one of her gigs. Angelica, who's a fire breather, is a key part of Sinclair's show. When she didn't show up, Sinclair had to scramble to make things right for the audience. Angelica said she didn't show because she had an important audition. Sinclair said that didn't matter because they had an agreement and business is business. Angelica admitted she was paid even though she skipped out and admitted she wasn't sorry about anything. Because of that, Jade Sinclair won her case. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- SEASON ONE: 2006-2007 5-22-2007 "HIGH COST BREAKUP" Bradley was suing his alleged ex-lover, Suzanne, for $5,000 for a loan he claims she never paid back when they broke up. She says he slashed her new fiance's tires, poured acid on her driveway and caused all sorts of destruction after he realized he couldn't have her. Oddly enough, Suzanne also claimed they never had sex or even dated! Brad said he could prove they were intimate and asked the judge to bring her to the bathroom to check out a tattoo she has in a private area. Judge Perez ignored the comment. As much as it bothered her, she was forced to rule in favor of Brad since Suzanne didn't pay back the loan. 5-17-2007 "YOU SAY CARETAKER, I SAY CASHTAKER" William and Wayne are ex-friends, but Wayne claims they were ex lovers, something William denied. William, who is HIV positive, was close to dying when he hired Wayne as his caretaker. He eventually gave Wayne power of attorney to take care of his bills. Judge Cristina said it sounded like they were more than freiends since William gave him all those rights, but William still maintained that Wayne was strictly his caretaker. After years of drama, things got physical between the men and Wayne kicked William out of their house. But William wasn't going down without a fight. He claimed Wayne owed him more than $4,000, which he won in Cristina's Court. 9-11-2007 SERIES PREMIERE: "GIRLFRIEND'S EX RUINED OUR CRUISE" The first episode of Cristina's Court focused on a teen named Jamie who was involved in a tug-of-war with his divorced parents. His mother, Jill, and her new man, David, paid for him to go on a cruise with them. But Jamie's father, James, put an end to their plans because Jamie had school the week of the vacation. David brought James to court for $2700, the cost of the trip. The judge told both sides to stop fighting with each other for Jamie's sake and dismissed the case. |
